The simplest solution to the illegal alien problem is to:
(1) Cease any property belonging to a landlord that rents to an illegal alien.
(2) Fine any employer that hires an illegal $1 million per worker.
(2) Fine any hospital that treats an illegal alien $1 million per patient.
(3) Fine any school that educates an illegal child $1 million per student.
The problem would solve itself nearly overnight as the flow of people coming into a country where they could find no place to live, no place to work, no place to get medical care, and no place to educate their kids would come to a dead stop.
In fact, they would deport themselves.
That's the sort of answer that a student would give to a businessman about running his company in the real world, all from the comforts of her dorm room.
There is no simple solution. There are over 8 million illegals. Over half of those illegals have documentation that can fool some of the best forgery experts.
Arresting 8 million illegals, or their employers, or even levying fines, would DWARF what our current judicial could handle (2 million in jail, several hundred thousand brought to trial each year).
Not to demagogue, but rather to point out *scope*, consider that the last mass round up of undesirables and those who harbored and employed them was in Europe between 1937 and 1945...an effort that tied down armies, had dedicated trains, and numerous concentration camps for some 6 million people.
Scope: 6 million.
Illegals in America today: over 8 million.
In Europe in the last century, the 6 million undesirables were already *registered* with the government. None of them were anonymous.
In America today, none of the 8 million + illegals are registered with the government. They are anonymous. They are off the grid.
Every LEO will tell you that it takes vastly more resources to track down anonymous fugitives compared to those whose idenities are known.
So there is no simple solution. Stop kidding yourself.

Actually, you wouldn't even have to fine them, just threaten them with losing federal and state funding.
