My husband and I take it upon ourselves to tear down anti-Bush and liberal hate speech stickers and flyers whenever we see them. Someone in our neighborhood (Cobble Hill, Brooklyn) stenciled "Osama Votes Kerry" all over the place. Awesome! However, the "Osama Votes Kerry" at the corner of our block has been defaced and now says "Vote Kerry". Someone painted over the "Osama" and the "s" at the end of "Votes". Grrrrrrrrrr.

At the end of the day there might be lots less new trash than the demonstrators had hoped for. The demonstration seems much teenier than advertised.
Remember the Million Man March? Well, right now the NYT online is putting the number of protesters at "tens of thousands." That's a lot of people, but the organizers were claiming 250,000 were going to show up.

What do you say to a 'community clean up drive'. First recommendation: Wear the thickest surgical gloves you can find. Several pairs as a matter of fact.
Second recommendation: Kevlar inserts. Needle sticks can be deadly.

Use a bullhorn.
Stand across the street from the America-haters and say "Shame on you!"
They can't stand it.
