Sad to hear this.... her video for Self-Control was ahead of its time, based loosely on a Phantom of the Opera theme.

Totally agree. Self-control was a jam.

He was a bit older than her. Well they are together now.

God rest her beautiful soul. She has gone home, I trust. Deepest condolences to her family.

I perfectly agree with you on her rendering of THE POWER OF LOVE. What a voice she has on it! I've heard this song times and times again and still I can't listen to it without a thrill. This version will be remembered. God rest her soul.

Now I realize that 62 isn't really "old" anymore in today's world (I'm 42 and yet I feel like I could be 30),

One of the most surprising things I learned getting older was that you never really feel any older than about 25 inside.

Also, that 25-year old inside keeps looking in the mirror and asking, "...when did *that* happen?"

Oh, damn. "Gloria" was my favorite song from the disco era, Branigan really knew how to belt one out.

Nicolette Larson died from cerebral edema, not an aneurysm.

Yeah she supported the troops. When I was in Japan ('89-'91) she did a concert for the troops at Yokota AB.

Just substitute the words "JohnKerry" for Gloria and the song takes on a different meaning. Not as melodious but it fits. Welcome to FR!

"...Her rendition of Power of Love, blows Celine Dion's away."

I emphatically agree. Jennifer Rush's is my favorite with Laura Branigan's a close second.....no, that would be a tie. The rich, powerful, sultry voice was marvelous!
