I see Hillary as the new Intelligence Czar (after all she already has all those FBI files..and Sandy Berger with all the stuff he's stolen out of the archives as her assistant. OMG what am I thinking?! VOTE BUSH..PLEASE!!
While that link was from a state, I understood it to be a summary of the Federal FEC election deadlines. I can't find those dates at the FEC site, which appears to be poorly organized. I'd probably have to dig into one of the several federal election laws to find it.
If those are indeed FEC deadlines as opposed to state deadlines, then after Sept 7. they can't change the names on the ballot. The rats could still substitute as the electoral college can cast their votes for whomever.
But the Palm Springs voter is going to get confused if Kerry's name is still on the ballot but the TV says he's withdrawn. They are going to spend hours looking for Hillary on the ballot, thereby denying the other Palm Springs voters the right to vote.

Change your point of view from "voting for a person" to "voting for a party." That is a paradigm shift.
The DEM party is on the ballot in all states. You will vote for a party, in November. Your vote will determine the slate of presidential electors (oh, the electoral college). Depending on 1. the vote and 2. which candidates are available, the electors will cast their ballots. Electors cast their ballots on party lines. If the DEM party has the votes in California, the DEM electors will vote for whoever the DEM party tells them to.

Whatever candidate is listed by that party is going to influence the votes. The democratic party will not get as many votes if Kerry is listed than if Hillary is listed, even if the party has announced that Kerry is no longer the candidate but Hillary is.

Yes, They will always do this regardless of what the truth is, but that they claim more votes, doesn't mean they get counted.
