Kerry citation a 'total mystery' to ex-Navy chief
August 28, 2004
BY THOMAS LIPSCOMB
Former Navy Secretary John Lehman has no idea where a Silver Star citation displayed on Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry's campaign Web site came from, he said Friday. The citation appears over Lehman's signature.
"It is a total mystery to me. I never saw it. I never signed it. I never approved it. And the additional language it contains was not written by me," he said.
The additional language varied from the two previous citations, signed first by Adm. Elmo Zumwalt and then Adm. John Hyland, which themselves differ. The new material added in the Lehman citation reads in part: "By his brave actions, bold initiative, and unwavering devotion to duty, Lieutenant (jg) Kerry reflected great credit upon himself...."
Asked how the citation could have been executed over his signature without his knowledge, Lehman said: "I have no idea. I can only imagine they were signed by an autopen." The autopen is a device often used in the routine execution of executive documents in government.
Kerry senior adviser Michael Meehan could not be reached for comment on Kerry's records.

Thanks for the ping!
Boston Arrogant yes. sKerry makes the Hollywood fictional Boston snob Major Charles Winchester III, MD from M.A.S.H. look like a Bush conservative.
"Some younger are just learning how deep this is.
Thats is why this is far beyond politics.
It is time that these leftists are truly revealed."
A younger one got a fairly deep learning experience this weekend when he tried to make fun of the Swift Vets. An Air Force Vet, the same age as me, and I shared a few non tender moments with this younger one and his wife.
His wife said that we were in this emotionally.
We said yes, thanks to Kerry, Fonda, Ramsey Clark and the left wing media, we were trashed at the same time.
I asked them if they want us to shut up on this issue like they wanted the Swift Vets to shut up. Both of them said no.
Thanks!

Thanks, that covers America fairly well re this critical interview.
I will miss it. I hope someone starts a live thread so those of us not able to hear it can read what was said.
One can only imagine what it feels like to be a Komrade Kerry Kamper, trying to present a positive image since the convention.
May all of them od on the purple pill for severe acid reflux, suffer from insomnia and have the worse hemmaroids in history.
There's always a live Drudge thread.
"My oldest son was born in 1974."
"While I was visiting last week, he started saying the swiftboat vets were wrong, but he had changed his tune by the end of the week.
"He himself is a former Marine, and strong Republican, but had probably been listening to Oreily types.
"I realized then how these younger people just can't see what we are seeing."
The fellow, my friend and I were talking to is a conservative and served in the Guard and went to Desert Storm I. Like your son, I think that he listened to O Reilly too much. He was stunned by how strong my friend and I turned on him after he dissed the Swift Vets, and his wife had tears in her eyes when we finished. They both admitted that they were not aware what really happened. They are in their mid to late 40's.
We donate to the Swift Vets, buy their books and support them in social and other situations.
