I get the impression that the cops in NY, God bless 'em, are just itching to bust some heads.
We might like to think so but the prevailing attitude is to get through the week with as little trouble as possible.

We visited NYC in Aug of 2001, and they had a huge parade one of the days we were there. The NYC police were fantastic. They have controlling crowds down to a science. They were very professional, but you knew they weren't going to put up with any b.s. NYPD was everywhere you looked. I felt completely safe in NYC, even after dark. I can't wait to go back again.
