After the greatest president in at least the last 100 years passed on, I was tempted to buy one or more of the many magazines issuing tribute issues. But then I remembered how many of those same magazines treated him while he was President-- making what he accomplished even more remarkable, like winning a wrestling match with one arm tied behind your back. Now that the library has announced an official release, we can rekindle our memories of a great president and, at the same time, be certain our money spent goes for a good cause.

I have been waiting for this but is it a CD as it says or a DVD? I want the official video that they talked about at the time of the funeral!

I deeply loved this man. Perfect no, but heads and shoulders above most other mortals.

I want to buy this but what a depressing week that was. I do not know if I can go through that again.

I shed a lot of tears that week watching on TV. I was a Reagan delegate to the 1976 national convention for Reagan.
I feel the need to cry some more.

I did too. It was like a part of America died. And that was only a couple of weeks after the WWII Memorial dedication, which I was a proud sponsor of, and was also emotionally tied to.

Good for you. I had the honor of working for the Navy from 83 on as we ramped up to a 600 ship Navy. Morale was high and we all loved him. We had pictures of him on the walls everywhere and he gave us a sense of purpose and unity. It was sorely needed after the Vietnam era and Carter.

Thank you for a great bunch of links. I'm sure there will be many memories rekindled with the RNC Convention in New York paying tribute next week. One of my fondest memories was working the floor of our county convention for Reagan in June 1976 (my first election), only to have the Country Clubbers in charge of the state party machinery thumb their nose at the rank and file and split the state delegation 50-50, when we had at least 75% support. Then they had the audacity to tell us we should be happy with their compromise!

Appreciate your comments- I remember the mid-seventies well, that was when me & my first wife became determined to get Mr. Reagan in office, come Hell or High Water. People forget what a mess Jimmy Carter made, at home and abroad. Those who weren't alive or aware back then have no idea how bad it was.
And yes, I remember those "country clubbers" and their disdain well.
