NEW YORK -- Hundreds of people, mostly mothers and many toting small children, marched across the Brooklyn Bridge on Friday to protest against President Bush just days before the Republican National Convention.
The march was organized by a group calling itself Mothers Against Bush, or MOB, but the crowd that gathered at Cadman Plaza on the Brooklyn side of the bridge included many fathers as well.
Bush "has no thought for the future. He just trashes things for the good of the old boys. I'm worried about my children's future," said Cynthia Ruse, who was marching with her husband, Travis, and two daughters, ages 4 and 2.
Asked what her main problem with President Bush was, Ruse said: "Everything. I wouldn't know where to start." The family stroller bore a sign depicting Bush as a bad apple.
The group claims 10,000 members in all 50 states -- including Republicans, Democrats and Independents.
The demonstration was peaceful, occasionally stopping so mothers could tend to their children. A police helicopter hovered above the bridge, and police officers were monitoring the march.
The protesters Friday were equipped with buttons that said "Join the MOB." They also carried diapers, baby food and red, white and blue balloons.
"I'm not a mother, but I don't want Maya to grow up in a world where the only solution to problems is war," said Noah Haiduc-Dale, who was marching with his 3-month-old daughter.
The convention opens Monday at Madison Square Garden, but a steady drumbeat of protests was under way days in advance.
What a deep thinker, Ms Ruse is.
Not very good mothers if they don't care about the future of their children. JF'nK sure isn't going to protect them.
Is this the long lost MIllion Mom march..?
Amazing, isn't it?
Isn't his picture in the FR Lexicon next to "Sitzpinkler"?
MAF - Mothers Against Freedom
Idiots on parade.
"Asked what her main problem with President Bush was, Ruse said: "Everything. I wouldn't know where to start.""
Take your time. We'll wait.
Actually it should be MOthers Against Bush or MOAB.
Well, they certainly aren't lesbians.....
What a deep thinker, Ms Ruse is.
Certainly not a clever Ruse.
German is a wonderful language for insulting people. And "Mr." hyphenated last name squats to pee.
hundreds? is that two hundred and one? LMAO
a hundred and seventy-six kids and twenty five adults who are on welfare...hmmmmmmmmmm
>>----The march was organized by a group calling itself Mothers Against Bush, or MOB----<<
Mothers Outside Brainwaves is apparently how it should read.
hundreds? is that two hundred and one? LMAO
It's more likely it was 10 protesters and 191 members of the media covering them.
You're two for two.
Oh, OK. Well, start fitting her for her burqa now, then.
Let me explain something to you, Mr. Hyphenectomy. (Think he took his wife's name?) There are people out there that hate you. They want to kill you. They want to enslave your daughter into a failed ideology from the seventh century. They hijacked four airliners three years ago and killed THREE THOUSAND innocent people. They may strike anywhere, anytime, with no regard for whether you are military or civilian, white or black, male or female, innocent or guilty. They cannot be reasoned with. They are not afraid of death. They are willing to kill themselves to kill you.
Now, Metrosexual P**sy-Whipped Boy, exactly how would you handle this situation? My guess would be "curl up in a mewling ball in the corner as you pee your Dockers and whimper for mercy."
You really need to get down on your knees and thank a God you probably don't believe in that we have men and women like Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Powell, Franks, and millions of others in our Armed Forces and emergency services...they are what stands between you and the Islamonazis.
War is a lousy answer. It sucks. It's a waste. No one knows that more than those who have fought in them. But y'know, Wussyman, sometimes, questions get asked to which war is the only answer.
Dismissed.
