Letter to Editor: Waiting for Kerry to lead again
Boston Globe ^ | August 27, 2004 | JONATHAN KLATE

Posted on 08/27/2004 12:56:45 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

JOHN KERRY wants us to believe he can effectively defend America, but based on the way he is struggling to defend his own reputation these days, you have to wonder about his grasp of focus, tactics, and threat analysis. Here's what I'd like to hear him say: "Here we have a president who the whole country knows deliberately avoided service in Vietnam, using his family's connections to get into the National Guard before going AWOL, permitting his surrogates to question whether the enemy fire I was subjected to in combat was thick enough to justify a citation for valor, or whether my wounds were sufficiently bloody to merit Purple Hearts?

"Since this president dances around the deck of an aircraft carrier costumed as a pilot and then goes out and cuts benefits to veterans' families and combat pay for our troops in Iraq, I really can't feel so special when he goes after me, just another combat veteran."

But that's essentially what Kerry and his minions *have* said already, and it hasn't helped them at all.

As I recall, Bush has worked to fix the military that the Democrats laid waste to.

Not to mention (LINK in post #1) the war was ramping down and they had a glut of pilots.

Nobody west of Framingham, MA, or east of Berkeley, CA, or outside a five mile radius of Ithaca, NY, Madison, WI or Boulder, CO, believes a single word of this sewer sludge.

Kerry's base is nervous and trying to feed him lines and (at the end of the letter) the ba$$ to get into the fray.

It's grim for Democrats.

They can't create a candidate.

This letter should be filed under "Blah, blah, blah."

This letter should be filed under "How Many Lies Can You Get in Two Short Paragraphs."

Oh, please, please, let Kerry say this -- or anything close to it!

Kerry is on very thin ice commenting on Bush wearing a costume! It'd be hard to fly a jet wearing Spandex.

There surely was a time when a letter such as Johnathan's would have gone into the trash.

Kudos and thanks to the Boston Globe for reminding us; with a slap upside the head, that is. . .that all Veterans are not equal; not in heart or mind or opportunity to be heard.

If they speak from the Left - and with a venemous mockery and hate of the President and by association, insult and undermine our Military; by all means; share their message.

I do not have to appreciate 'Veteran Jonathon' by virtue of his service.

This is a paper that suppports John Kerry; and this letter shows just more 'points of hate'; that Kerry's candidacy counts on to move it foreward.
