Wow! that incident was a mess ... This thing is unravelling. And this incident has nothing to do with any of the military awards disputes.

Double-edged sword for Kerry... let's him off the hook for atrocities but makes his awards meaningless.

And as of consequence, the VC and child (in line of fire) was that night got zapped. Kerry should have seen the sampan on radar where the boat was far away from the Swift boat. Where the sampan would have received warning shots that most likely saved lives.
But the sampan was right upon the PCF, where the VC guy brought his weapon to bear on the Swifties, so they got shot.

I think this is why Rush took a vacation so Gardner can't be labled a ditto-head stooge.

Six weeks ago??? He didn't hear about Kerry's bogus reports until six weeks ago? No wonder nobody (except O'Neill) challenged him before. He wrote the reports, turned them in, no review or scrutiny, and that was that. Military officers are expected to be honest in their reports. It's a given. Unless there were some specific and compelling reason to suspect that a report was fraudulent, it would have been accepted as a truthful account of what happened. Any fellow skipper who requested to review them would have been viewed as questioning a fellow officer's integrity.
As an enlisted man under his commnad, Gardner would normally not have ever seen kerry's after-action reports.

In some ironic way, exposing Kerry gives some of the Vietnam Vets vindication for the hippe creeps that denigrated our vets. It's a blessing, a blessing bigger than shining a light on Kerry's lies. This country owes its Vietnam veterans, BIGTIME. A sincere apology is in order, an admission that we were wrong to believe a significant fraction of our military was dishonorable. It wasn't just hippies, Vietnam vets got a raw deal from plenty of "regular" folks who fell for the propaganda.

He's doing a better job than Rush would with Gardner.Maybe because Roger doesn't need to pat himself on the back with every other word?

He said the dimms are going to try to embarrass the President before the convention by dumping the "AWOL" story all over the media again.big mistake on their part. The AWOL story has come and gone. Kerry needs to answer questions that are lingering about his service.
