Apparently, according to Gardner, Kerry was either asleep or not paying attention to the radar and they didn't even know the sampan was there until it was on top of them. Had Kerry been doing his job, they would have been able to fire some warning shots, stop the sampan, search and probably arrest them (allowing the child to live).

Isn't it odd that none of Kerry's "Band Of Brothers" ever shows up on any radio talk shows? They are too busy delivering whiney-ass letters and taking away revenue and Mail-Carrier JOBS from minorities to have time for talk show appearances.

No wonder Kerry didn't want an inquiry into how this happened --- and lied in his report.

Kerry submitted the report so that as it went up the chain of command that HE (Kerry) got the credit for the engagement and inflated. Kerry reported what should have been an incident report (i.e., US Navy screw-up that resulted in civilian casualties -- not a court-martial, just a lesson to facilitate non-repetition) as a battle victory. It isn't just that "he took credit," his report reversed the nature of the incident from "bad" to "good."

Kerry had his thumb up his butt while he should have been watching the radar scope.

OOOPS..got a little excited here...meant DOING instead of GOING...hehhe:)
To: Cboldt
Wow! that incident was a mess, and Kerry was covering for mistakes he made, instead of facing inquiry, he dreamed up a heroic scenario for himself!
The crewmembers were expecting a grilling, instead they found that Kerry inflated the report to stay out of trouble.
This thing is unravelling.

Oh my....Gardner doing damage to Kerry about the kills...Kerry took credit for kills he didn't do....Kerry is going to regret he ever mentioned Vietnam! In some ironic way, exposing Kerry gives some of the Vietnam Vets vindication for the hippe creeps that denigrated our vets.

Kerry told the committee on April 22, 1971, "...I can recall often sending in the spot reports which we made after each mission..." Kerry's own words are coming back to haunt him.

It's no wonder that the Swifties (and POWs) aren't going to be intimidated by Kerry's Band of Lawyers. It's PERSONAL for them. This is the moment they've been waiting for for 35 years, and even McCain isn't going to make them shush. (Go Swifties! Sink that Kerry barge!)

It's going to be interesting to see how they try and spin this one. Simple The MSM will ignore it.
To: smiley
See, the thing the MSM (or LSM) keeps going back to is "the official Navy record supports Kerry's version." Yeah, but KERRY wrote the "official Navy record"!!!!!!!!!!

From today's ABC THe Note:
We wonder, after Ginsberg's big, fast press tour: how much soul searching is going on in newsrooms over his allegations of media bias?

He intimated that the only reason the sanpan got so close was that Kerry wasn't doing his job to begin with, f'ing should have been courtmartialed.

This entire sampan incident puts Kerry in a very bad light.
Kerry was a lazy, incompetent, lyin' boat commander!
He has been lazy, incompetent and lyin' all his life!
Imagine what he would be like as the Commander-In-Chief and President!!??
The Swifties see right through Kerry (being in the same unit in combat will do that for you). They are doing work the policy-wonkish GOP - with all it's millions of dollars and fancy advisors - refuses to do, which is expose this lazy, incompetent, liar for what and who he really is!
