I support Pres. Bush, but I consider Free Speech (especially political speech) a paramount human right, protected by the First Amendment.

If people like the SwiftVets can't raise money to get the truth out about a fraud becoming President, I will consider emigrating to a country that does protect freedom.

Absolutely, if the fat boy (Moore) and everyone one else can express their views then certainly these Swift Boat veterans have every right to do the same. And I proudly donated to them.

I am in 100% agreement with you. CFR passed and gave 527s this right, and now they want to limit free speech even more? Give me a frickin break. I blame Kerry and his crying for this, but I also blame Bush for not simply saying these ads are within the law.

This is a brilliant move by Bush.
He provides cover to McCain for the knee jerk reaction he gave the week the Swift Boat ads came out.
He challenges Kerry to get on board or look like he is waffling again.
He expects the Courts to rule the 527s are Free Speech. This means Kerry has to Shut Up about the Swift Boat ads. But, it's already been said in this forum, the courts can't handle this in time for it to do any good.
That's why it is a brilliant move.

Explain to me how buying TV ads is free speech compared to voicing your opinion on a street corner? Or how giving a group 15 million is free speech?
