Bob Kerrey Did Leftist Rewrite Of History On Scarborough
MSNBC | 8/25/04

Posted on 08/26/2004 8:03:12 AM PDT by Williams

Bob Kerrey was allowed to rewrite history from the left on two important points last night. First, he repeatedly said the swiftboat vets should hate Nixon and Johnson for losing the war in Vietnam, and he mentioned war crimes trials for the political leaders responsible for the war, and for losing it.

It is a fact that President Nixon gradually withdrew all U.S. forces from Vietnam, trained the South Vietnamese, and bombed the N Vietnamese into a peace treaty by which they withdrew their forces from South Vietnam. The American Military and the President won that war.

AFTER Nixon resigned due to Watergate, the N Vietnamese violated the peace agreement and launched an enormous tank assault into South Vietnam. President Ford went on television and pleaded with the democrat controlled Congress to authorize him to just give the South military supplies to defend themselves. The democrats in Congress absolutely sold out our ally under attack and banned all aid to an ally. An absolute disgrace by the democrat left, and exactly the result wanted by John Kerry and his ilk. But the U.S. administrations did not lose that war. Nixon won it.

Second, Bob Kerrey went on about not dividing the country and reliving the horrible Vietnam experience. The Vietnam experience was horrible BECAUSE the left divided the country and was disgustingly pro communist. The democrats want to forget about a disaster THEY caused.

Some of us wish Kerrey would lose that haircut.

The other piece that is often forgotten is that VietNam proved that the domino theory was true and millions of innocent people were left to suffer while the protesters could forget all about them in relative comfort.

Last year, the trials relative to the 1.7 million Cambodians massacred by Pol Pot were cheerfully ignored by the MSM.

Nice. They get freedom and prosperity and demand that it is wrest from innocents in non-American or European countries. Sounds like feudalism to me.

Nixon won Vietnam War I. Ted Kennedy & the democrats lost Vietnam War II.

BTW, is there any single person in the history of America thats done more damage to his country than Ted Kennedy?

Also, the US intervention in Vietnam prevented communism from spreading beyond Indochina to other Southeast Asian countries.

...and he mentioned war crimes trials for the political leaders responsible for the war...

This must be the latest DNC talking points. Hissy Matthews said the same thing the night before - just flipping channels and caught him screeching at someone else. They want to change the dynamic and dramatic effect of the SBVT ads and keep mentioning Nixon.

It won't work - the ads speak quite eloquently for themselves.

I think Bob Kerrey's appearance was interesting for what he didn't say, which suggests he still has some honor. He didn't go on a full-out partisan attack on President Bush nor did he give his rousing approval to Kerry. In fact, he seemed to come down as hard, if not harder, on Michael Moore and Fahrenheit 9/11, by name, that just about anyone else.

Scarborough was too busy french kissing Kerrey to notice the lies.

I didn't watch the entire Kerrey segment but he seemed incoherent and kept mentioning how McCain and Kerry survived the attempts to normalize relations with Viet Nam.

Rather strange choice of words, almost attempting to put Kerry's work on legislation alongside McCain's POW years.

Kerrey once mentioned that clinton was an unusually good liar.....I think Kerrey has him beat hands down.

Watch for this theme of war crimes trials as Kerry takes to the airwaves on the eve of the Republican National Convention.

Evidently the insanity will continue.

DNC talking points: Bob Beckell said exactly the same thing last night on Hannity & Colmes.

You are absolutely correct, just as the "Bush didn't act for 7 minutes refrain" on 9/11 will begin again.

My answer to that is: Why didn't Senator Kerry and his fellow congress critters not act after the first WTC, USS Cole, ad infinitum terrorists act? They had 10 + years, President Bush had seven minutes.

That is a wonderful retort.......billclinton had 8 yrs to respond since the first WTC bombing and he did nothing.

I too saw that Scarborough show, unfortunately because I was stuck at work and their cable TV package does not include FOX News.

Anyway, I fired off two very ticked-off emails to Scarborough, asking him how as a supposedly learned Congressman he could just sit there and allow Kerrey to blame Nixon for the Vietnam War.

JFK, the Democrat poster boy, and LBJ started the freakin war!!

NIXON got us out with a semblence of our dignity intact by the so-called Vietnamization plan. The plan didn't really work too well, but the only other alternative was to keep sending American boys to die for a cause which began noble, but became dragged into the mud of Southeast Asia politics and deception.

Anyway, I told Scarborough that MSLSD will continue to be a third or fourth rate TV cable station as long as it continues to allow the Democrat spin to overwhelm the truth.

It takes a good liar to know a good liar.
