I get that, but destroying Kerry is your aim. The way the good people on this site are going is counter productive.

Galanti and Bud Day are eating Kerry alive on this issue as it is. To redebate normalization and the like will only cause McCain to take up for Kerry more than he already is.

McCain is well regarded by swing voters-- we'll need swing voters to win the election. I think your heart is in the right place, but I think the tactics are all wrong.

"with the utmost respect, this site must be misleading and full of lies. Why, they are vets or family members of vets who do not support the sailhore of failyore.'

Yeah, right. According to the Kerry Kamp, anyone who says anything negative about John Kerry must be lying. The only appropriate response is to worship him on bended knee.

Well if Vietnam Vet pedophiles (by no means do I mean to suggest that the POW/MIA families haven't been wounded by Kerry) came out against Lurch, would you think that was helpful to defeating Kerry. Notice the years are 91-94. I think the Dems are doing this to remind some folks that at one time 41 was on their sh*t list and to make it McCain and Kerry against some fringe vets.

I also have no idea what you are talking about.

"I think the Left is behind this. If it's Sampley--he is being very, very misguided."

Before you come out with an opinion like that, you should go to the site and read it. The names of the MIA/POW families supporting this site are listed.

I have no desire to "destroy" anyone. I think that Kerry's own words and actions are doing that, and that is merely justice. He's his own worst enemy.

"As I recall the President's father started the ball rolling on normalization of relations with Vietnam."

So what? He didn't stone-wall the MIA/POW families.

"This Village Voice article by Sydney H. Schanberg When John Kerry's Courage Went M.I.A. is a must read. Very distressing article."

Good article. Well researched. Thanks.

But I don't like the title, because I don't think Kerry's courage went MIA in this case.

"When will Kerry announce that he is withdrawing?"

Hopefully, late at night on November 2nd.

"To redebate normalization and the like will only cause McCain to take up for Kerry more than he already is."

I agree with this, as far as it goes. In my opinion, it doesn't matter WHY Kerry stone-walled the MIA/POW families. What he DID shows, again, his attitude and actions toward American military and their families.

"John Kerry, in what I view as the greatest campaign miscalculation in any election I've ever seen, has "opened the box" on a lot of old wounds."

Just to clarify, none of those wounds were his. A bandaid should not a Purple Heart get.

Whether it makes McCain or anyone else nuts, these families have every right to voice their opinion.

John Kerry, in what I view as the greatest campaign miscalculation in any election I've ever seen, has "opened the box" on a lot of old wounds.

People have every right to do what they need to in order to try to cope with the grief, anger, and loss they suffered during the Vietnam era.

--- Well said. Thank you ---

Bad idea. This will get John McCain nuts again--we really don't need that.

POW/MIA families have been speaking out against Kerry for a long time and ignored by the MSM. They have a right to speak and should be heard.

I have lost two cousins to war. One was lost in WWII before I was born and one was lost in Vietnam. The cousin in Vietnam came home and the cousin lost in WWII didn't. The loss with a body to bury was grief, the loss with no trace is haunting. My mother was haunted by the loss of her favorite cousin after his aircraft went down until the day she left us. If anyone had obstructed a search for information about him she would have shook the world to make them move.

"Well if Vietnam Vet pedophiles (by no means do I mean to suggest that the POW/MIA families haven't been wounded by Kerry) came out against Lurch, would you think that was helpful to defeating Kerry." I said that to convey that just having Viet Vets or their families come out against him isn't useful-- I used hyperbole (obviously). My point is that re-debating normalization dilutes the strenth of our other arguments. It's a bad tactical decision. PERIOD!!

"Notice the years are 91-94. I think the Dems are doing this to remind some folks that at one time 41 was on their sh*t list"

I do remmeber POW/MIA families being pissed at 41 for normalization. Perot (a long time POW/MIA guy) probably orchestrated the public diss of 41 by POW/MIA families, but it still happened.

"and to make it McCain and Kerry against some fringe vets."

Employing this tactic dilutes the other arguments, creates a situation where McCain becomes Lurch's tag-team partner against the vets and it makes the whole thing look more fringe.

It's all about '71 and using bogus Purple Hearts to get out early. That wins the day. Re-debating normalization is a misguided detour.

To be sure, Kerry is indifferent to the concerns of other people--that's bleeping obvious. And there are better ways of showing that.

He wasn't real helpful during those hearings. Those hearings were so scripted, it was a tragic farce.
However, the declassification of information may have been the only good thing to come of it. To kerry and cronies, it was opening business opportunies there. barf
