CHICAGO -- In anticipation of her stint as delegate to the Republican National Convention next week, former Miss America Erika Harold will appear on Fox Cable News Hannity and Colmes tonight. The show airs at 8:00 PM CST.
Harold will speak as one of the evening headliners at the NRC on August 31, sharing the spotlight with First Lady Laura Bush, California's Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Secretary of Education Rod Paige.
Harold, who lives in the Champaign-Urbana area, may be a former Miss America, but the 2003 title-holder is busier than ever.
Harold will be a law student at Harvard this fall. But before heading off to Cambridge, she has a scheduled stop in New York where she'll be a delegate to the Republican National Convention.
She'll be there as President George W. Bush formally accepts his Party's nomination. Some Republicans hope it will be the first of many campaign events for the former beauty queen.
"I would be very interested in considering the possibility of running for public office," Harold said.
Harold already has fans in conservative circles, in part because she regularly talks to young people about abstaining from sex. On the issue of abortion, Harold is pro-life.
The bright hope that Harold represents is rare good news this year for the GOP in a state where President Bush is currently losing in the polls to Democrat John Kerry.

Is that the deaf chick who went to Jerry Falwell's school? She's got some admirable traits.
They should have run her for Senate instead of that goof-ball Keyes.
She'd be wasting her time at Harvard Law anyway - all they're gonna do is fill her head with a load of Marxist victimology for the next three years.
Besides, she makes for some most excellent Eye Candy.
I wonder if she's pro-life?
Looking at her picture, I'd have to agree!
Ungawa!
Did you read the article? it says that she teachs kids absitinence and is pro-life.
Somehow, I doubt she's the requisite 30 years old...
H O T !
Condi-Erika 2008!!!!!!
LOL! I didn't mean that. Physically she is not my type. I like her message quite a lot though!!!!
"Did you read the article?" There is a photograph demanding attention and you expect us to read? :)
Well since we don't care about where people live or anything else anymore who cares about age?
I'm very straight, just very traditional. Let me leave it at that.
RTFA? What is this, Slashdot?
Hell no I didn't RTFA, I looked at the damned eye candy.
I dunno, there's that little document called the Consitution I like to review from time to time -- which expressly makes Keyes changing residence to Illinois acceptable, as long as it is before the time that he would be elected to the Senate, and expressly prohibits anyone under the age of 30 from being elected Senator.
You might want to read the whole document for yourself, but the relevant bit to this converstaion is:
No Person shall be a Senator who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty Years, and been nine Years a Citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an Inhabitant of that State for which he shall be chosen. [Article III, Section 3]
I understand that, but even that doesn't seem to matter anymore. I'm sure if she were a Democrat and they were stuck with some fool like Keyes they would find a way.
