The Presidents camp did exactly the right thing. IMHO

In not accepting the letter they simply are saying ' this was addressed by the Presidents statement the other day that ALL such ads should be stopped'.

If they had accepted the letter, even if it was to stick it to the kerry camp, it would be akin to saying the issue deserved more consideration and action on the Presidents part.

Exactly right.

Plus, IMHO,they're trying to sandbag the President.

If he had accepted the letter, it would have been a tacit admission that he has influence over the Swift Vets for Truth, resulting in editorials to the effect all over the MSM.

When I see the Prez make such a wise move (as he did today), I have to wonder: Was it HIS idea to respond this way? Was it an advisor's idea? Was it Laura's idea? Whosever idea it was sure got it right; it was a perfect move.
