Jim Rassmann, center, approach a Secret Service Agent, right, on station at the check point to the entrance of President Bush (news - web sites)'s ranch Wednesday Aug. 25, 2004 in Crawford, Texas. Cleland tried to deliver a letter protesting ads challenging John Kerry (news - web sites)'s Vietnam service to President Bush at his Texas ranch Wednesday, but the Secret Service stopped Cleland short of his goal. When I see the Prez make such a wise move (as he did today), I have to wonder: Was it HIS idea to respond this way? Was it an advisor's idea? Was it Laura's idea? Whosever idea it was sure got it right; it was a perfect move.
Yup. : )
Oh The Humanity!!

Proud to say I live in GA and contributed to Cleland's defeat
It was nothing more than a hippie protest type stunt.
How much was the economy damaged by flying all these bozos to Texas when they could have called and emailed.
Is it just me..or is Rasmussen the spitting image of that Tommy-Boy character?
I dunno. Seems that folks who care about getting some facts out regarding John Kerry (ie, the Swift Boat Vets for Truth) are doing an impressive job in informing all of us of what they fear in John Kerry as a commander in chief of our nation.
Seems to me, that the kerry kamp is in full defensive mode, because the TRUTH, when juxtaposed against fraudulent and dispicable actions, is the most POWERFUL WEAPON of ALL. This is why the Swift Boat Ads, a personal glimpse of kerry thru the eyes of those who worked with him, near him or immediately after his tour of duty in Vietnam, are so devastating to kerry.
Kerry now has to face up to people who have an entirely different viewpoint of just WHO kerry is. People who want the American people to KNOW who kerry is, what he is capable of, BEFORE they go to VOTE for their president this year.
The network press does not care that kerry might be disastrous for our nation during this war on terror, they only know he is a democrat and they like that in a person.
So the Swifties who do not believe kerry is even remotely fit to command our precious military, have found other ways to inform us.
God Bless their efforts. (I believe HE has done this already.)
The truth has put kerry on the defensive-something kerry is VERY unacquainted with and I imagine, very panicked over...as it should be.
Page 200: "I called the media. . . . I said, 'If I take some crippled veterans down to the White house and we chain ourselves to the gates, will we get coverage?' 'Oh, yes, we will cover that.' So you are reduced to a position where the only way you can get your ideas out is to stage events."

Try and remember the last part...notice he is NOT HOLDING on to the grenade. Ah, those details...
GOOD ONE, HR! I enjoyed that little ditty. Mxxx
Well, it may turn the tables on them but it has a very negative side effect: If the President treats someone as a respectable person, people will conclude that he is a respectable person. And that's the last thing we want people to think of DemocRATs!
