"Colonel Day was the only POW to escape from prison in the South.
This is the only sentence that doesn't ring true. Where did this bio come from? Bud was held in the north--roomed with McCain either with or after Overly. Nick Rowe escaped from the south (later assassinated in the Philippines)."
Welcome to FreeRepublic, newguy, I see you joined today to launch your seed of doubt.
Col. Day's resume is an entirely plausible scenario since many fighters launched from Danang (in the South) and recovered in Danang, following their mission completion. An injured plane which goes down in the boonies around Danang in the 60's was very likely to have it's pilot captured by the Commies who were definitely in the Central and South parts of Vietnam.
BTW, are you a Commie or just a Socialist?
The print press..Washington Post, NY Times, etc are avoiding the Swiftboat story because they want a democratic president.
I think you have it directionally right. My numbers are 56 -58 Bush, Nader 3, J F'n K 40, clueless people the remainder.
Thank you for your service in 'Nam, and that of your friends and comrades in arms, some of whom certainly paid the price.
I'm glad you didn't get spit on. I did, being an ROTC volunteer at a major liberal college. A friend of mine had blood thrown on him as he was walking to drill.
I, for one, NEVER have seen definitive evidence that the atrocities alleged by sKerry were real. I will not believe any such words coming out of his mouth. I loathe that poor excuse for a man, and am proud of these vets who served in 'Nam who are now serving their country with valor for calling him out.
.
"The report is from the Spectator..Kerry is considering a"
sking to go on..( incidentently..just before the GOP convention)..to apologize to any Vietnam Vets he offended with his anti-war stuff...he's digging a deeper hole for himself...
Turn out the lights, the party's over.....
"It is sickening, revolting, to even consider this skerry creature being compare to real heros. If this country elects such a sleaze, I will have some very serious personal matters to think over."
Guadalajara is one of the greatest cities in the World, cheap, good beer, cheap, good food and a wonderful and clean city. If Kerry wins, you and I will probably bump into each other.
Did you know John Kerry commanded a swiftboat?
I bet Colonel Day never did that!
"BUMP, all the eggs have hatched and all the rosters are comming home to rost."
I'd recommend you buy a vowel.
Wow. That is some record.
This guy needs to star in an ad...BIG TIME.
"I wondered if the apology will include that weird little bow he does with the palms of his hands pressed together. Did he learn that on his trip to Vietnam?"
If he tapped his forehead with his palms together, that is a VN prayer position.
bttt
"What was it that J FUBAR K did to elicit such a following?"
He put a (D) after his name and did what every Dim does, scare the people, lie to the people.
"If Kerry wins, you and I will probably bump into each other."
Entirely possible, if there is nothing left of America here, why not such a place as that?
I wonder how he feels about kerry's comments about service in the National Guard?

Don't recall all the details, but Lt. Dieter Dengler, a Naval Aviator, escaped FRom a VC prison several times before he was rescued.
Dengler escaped FRom a Pathet Lao prison in Laos.
In fact, during the same period, perhaps on the same day that McCain made the Rambo comment, Kerry made a particularly snyde comment about the American Legion
Within the same Newsday article I quoted, this appeared:
Senator Kerry reacted to the opposition of the veterans' groups by sneering at them. Said Kerry: "I think it was Jack Kennedy who said of the American Legion back in the 1960's they had not had an original idea in 25 years. Well, now maybe it is 50."
Kerry is set to make a speech at the American Legion convention Sept. 1 in Nashville, Tenn, during the Republican National Convention.
"He's a member of the American Legion," said Kerry's communications director, Stephanie Cutter. "He was invited to come address the group, and we felt like it was an important speech to give and an important time to give it."
I wonder if anyone will remember his 1994 view of the Legion when he saunters up to the podium and informs all in attendance that he was in Viet Nam and that Francis Ford Coppola made a movie about his clandestine exploits in Cambodia.
I'd like to see kerry debate him some time.
