I just caught the tail end of an interview with a columnist whose name I didn't catch, who said that John Kerry answered a written question about his favorite dog with yet another lie about his four months on the swift boats.
I remember reading that Kerry's answer to the question began, "When I was in Viet Nam..."
Well, he said they had found a dog in VN and named him VC. Now, the story goes, VC was on the swift boat with them when the boat hit a mine. The dog was thrown from the boat, flew through the air, and landed safely on another swift boat.
The crew of Kerry's boat sadly assumed that their little buddy, VC, was a goner, until the crew of the other boat asked, "Hey, did you lose a dog?"
Okay, here's the kicker: Kerry's boat never hit a mine!
It was John McCaslin. Excellent segment!
kerry is such an idiotic liar
THanks. Now that I know his name, I can find his latest article.
Is there anything, no matter how small or irrelevant, that Kerry won't lie about?! He's just like bloody Bill Clinton.
Link doesn't work.
He makes algore look honest.
I suspect that he meant that his boat came near,/i> a mine... or maybe it was a "mime".... In any event, the dog got scared, and jumped into the other boat. Or maybe it was a cat... In any event, it was a real interesting story.
This was covered on FR a couple weeks ago. The entire story was so illogical it was completely unbelievable. Even if Kerry's boat had been hit by a mine, to claim the dog was blown through the air only to land on a boat that was so far away they had to radio to Kerry's boat that they now had the dog...well, let's just say some parts of the story seem to be embellished. I'm pretty sure Kerry was on a swiftboat at some point during Vietnam, but as for the rest of the story....
It wasn't a mine after all, just a speed bump. Scraped up the undercarriage pretty bad, though.
Yes, these types of non-material lies are more like Gore than Clinton. Clinton lied because he felt trapped. Gore fabricated to make himself look good. Kerry seems to be more like the latter.
the link works just remove the " " cut & paste i dont know how to insert a link... im new to the HTML thing...
Okay, here's the link to McCaslin's article about VC.

Clinton was at least smart about his lying... he didn't lie unless he felt he had to. Kerry is simply pathological - he appears totally uninterested in what the truth might be when he speaks (or alternatively believes the truth is whatever he speaks).
The F&F segment was on John McCaslin's new book "Inside the Beltway". It sounds like a good, funny read. *sigh* there are so many Must Read books out there these days.
Incredible. Forget 'is John Kerry fit to be President?' The question now is, 'how could someone like this get to be Senator?' One can only imagine the revelations to come, once the spotlight moves beyond his Vietnam record.
I never dreamed I'd say this but kerry is starting to make algore look somewhat hackable.
The dog ended up in a circus act where he jumped from across flaming rivers of burning oil and exploding M-80's, reliving that fateful day in the Nam, so long ago. </sarc>
