There are several known POWs that never made it home, and there is no accounting for them. Then we have the MIAs.
Most Communist governements are paranoid and use people as pawns. There are still quite a few missing WWII vets that the Russians were "holding" for us till the end of the war.
North Korea is even more paranoid.

Which document are you referring to? Haven't there been a couple of books written on this topic? I think I have one of them but have yet to read it because I know it will infuriate me and make me extremely ill.
