Editor, the Advocate:
Texas has given complainers and whiners plenty of time to get used to the results. The folks in Texas (most of us, anyway) have decided that we might have to take matters in our own hands.
Here is our solution: Let John Kerry become president of the United States (all 49 states), and let George W. Bush become president of the Republic of Texas.
So what does Texas have to do to survive as a republic?
Nasa in Houston: We will control the space industry. We refine over 85 percent of gasoline in the U.S. Defense: We have over 65 percent of it, and the term "Don't mess with Texas" will take on a new meaning.
Oil: We can supply all the oil the Republic of Texas needs for next 300 years. Yankee states? Sorry! Natural gas: We have all we need. Computer industry: We lead the nation in producing computer chips and communications. Health centers: We have the largest research centers for cancer research, burn centers and the trauma units in the world. We have enough colleges to keep us going: UT, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Rice, SMU, UH, Baylor, etc. Ivy grows better in the south, anyway.
We have a ready supply of workers. Just open the border when we need some more.
In case of foreign invasion, we have the National Guard and Texas Air National Guard, but since almost everybody down here has six rifles and a pile of ammo, we can raise an army in 24 hours, or the Texas Department of Public Safety can send us some Texas Rangers.
We are self-sufficient in beef, poultry, hogs and vegetable produce, and we know how to cook it and have it taste good.
To the rest of the United States under Kerry, since you won't have refineries to get gas for your cars, only Kerry will be able to drive around in his 9 mile per gallon SUV. The rest will have to walk or ride bikes. You won't have TV as the space center in Houston will cut off your communications. You won't have natural gas to heat your homes, but since Kerry has predicted global warming, you will not need the gas.
is A&M and Baylor something we in texas want to brag about?
You have all that and not one full head of teeth! Amazing!
Awww. I'm just kidding. God bless Texas!
I was born is AZ...but my dad is from Texas...can I move in and I am a USAFR. Can I move in?????
And never run out of bullsh*t, either, apparently.
'Live in Hell - Rent out Texas' - old cowboy saying.
Just kidding - Remember the Alamo!
Mississippi wants to join!
This would make a great ad for Bush. He was the governor of TX, Kerry a Senator from Mass., compare the two states. Texas, a country unto itself.
I don't think anyone caught it....boy I did. Made sure my powder was dry. I'm also a Texan living West Houston, TX. Truly BUSH COUNTRY!!!!
Wher can I apply? New York, California and all the Blue States can KMA. Socialism just does not work for me.
AMEN!!!!
Most definitely!
maybe someone should petition for a referendum on secession.
I'm looking for a reason to move (back) to Texas...

Print out and wear as a Campaign Button or go HERE to print.
I have often wondered what would have happened if W was gov during the Waco atack instead of that hag Ann Richards.
Are you like a real Blue Angel? I know I am AF but I have to admit that when I saw my first airshow the Blue Angels performed and honestly....I was ruined for life when you see the best. They are amazing....well if I can move to Texas...can I take AZ with me. I was raised about 35 mils east of Tombstone, so we have some good history here???
First off, a new Texas Republic will have a huge immigration situation:
You folks gonna let a few of us 49 staters in? ( I'm game to give it a try, but would surely like to bring my CA coast weather!)

As a person who lives in Ohio, I would like to point a few flaws in this genius plan.
If you split off from the U.S., do you think we are going to keep our space agency in a forgien land? And just why do you think the other 49 states would allow you to do this? As you note, you supply 85% of the our DOD's oil, do you think we would allow this type of threat to our nations security?
