he is likely diabled for some other reason. I think it must be a mental problem.
diabled=disabled.
"If he is 51, he never served in Nam."
He could have. He would've been 18 in 1971. But it's unlikely.
Your math is wrong. The War ended thirty years ago. That leaves him age 21 at the end of the war. Plenty of time.
That doesn't mean he is what he says he is.
Hahaha! Public school math. The fall of Saigon took place in 1975. If the youngest age to enlist at that time was 18, then the youngest enlistee in 1975 would have been born in about 1957. 51 years ago was 1953 leaving plenty of time for him to have served in 'Nam.
Actually, I had a friend in high school (1972) who had the "opportunity option" of either service or jail. He chose the service.
Died in Viet Nam in 1971 (RIP Sean)
I was thinking that as well...What is the youngest a person can be who served in Vietnam? (18 yrs old when they began withdrawing troops in what year - '72?)
Do the math again. You're wrong.
Actually, you beat me to it.
I'm 50, and the draft was abolished while I was still in high school. (I think they still drew the numbers - mine was 8 - afterwards.)
It is possible, but with all the fake veterans running around, I would like some proof.
