HEAD UP: Kerry speech expected live at 11am est..will confront Swift Boat Vets and Bush..

Posted on 08/24/2004 7:46:47 AM PDT by ken5050

Fox will cover the speech live...one key question..will Kerry take questions from the press. Will he be asked to release his contemporaneous diaries? Will he be asked to release his complete military records? Will he attempt to mitigate his hideous testimony to the Senate accusing Americans of War crimes?..Will he say he was wrong about being in Cambodia?

I'm with you on the Cambodia story....and its many revisions, as well. They all get a one (1).

My understanding is that the first time one has a provable lie, that it is fair to presume one is dealing with a liar.

The question is not does he have a dog, but has he put her on a short leash with a muzzle on it?

I haven't heard anything on Tereza since she passed the note in Iowa to give her little rant on organic pig farming~!

I'm am so fed up with the media and the way Kerry is treated compared to Bush. This is so very wrong for America, the media thinks they control us by what they tell us is fact from fiction and it is true many are controlled by them. For the protection of our nation and it's future it must stop.It they succeed and Kerry wins from that day on they will NEVER give up their power again!

"That one's going to my dad."

The remark by Kerry about "all the rest of the veterans" may end up being ranked with Nixon's statement in the 1960 campaign, I can't give exact context but the foot in mouth moment went something like,"it is not the(some number)of people there, they are not that important", if Nixon had not made that one statement he would almost certainly have been elected in 1960 instead of eight years later.

The poor (slandered) dear. Now he can't talk about health care and his secret plan to get us out of Iraq. Do you all ever get the feeling that this guy likes going off-message?

This just in... the subject of Kerry's speech is now reportedly about his desire to drop out of the presidential race in favor of joining the cast of General Hospital and advertising a new kind of shampoo that's just for men.

You know something else, there are a LOT of retired vets in California, despite the high cost of housing there. Most bought their houses before the 40% run-up in prices during the last four years. Bush may pick up a large majority of the veteran vote this Fall. And yesterday Congressman David Dreyer said Governor Arnold "will leave no doubt who he supports for President next week." Sounds like the Dem legislators in California have finally got Arnold riled up. So with a big vet turnout and Arnold's suport for Bush, and relative apathy among Democrats, well you never know, the Golden State could got to GWB in a squeaker. If that happens, he wins even without Ohio.

Well I wouldn't get too worried about it. Alternative media grows stronger every day. More and more people get all their news from the internet and talk radio. Some day, and not too far off, news broadcasts over the internet will have the picture & sound quality of TV broadcasts, and at that time the major news networks will fragement into hundreds of specialized news broadcasts. Conservatives will be able to start their own internet news networks with almost no investment other than the cost of web hosting. Then the game will be over for Big Media and everyone will be on a level playing field. I'll throw a party the day CBS News officially shuts down it's TV broadcasts and become just another internet news source.

I was horrified to learn today that my friend in FL is a Kerry supporter/campaigner. This is a woman who is highly intelligent and very well-educated. How could she possibly be FOOLED by all these LIES????? I'm so shocked and disgusted by her decision. I cannot even have a discussion with her about it, as I fear I would be too passionate and become too angry with the lack of intelligent thought, and end up damaging a treasured friendship. Ugh. I'm baffled.

"Reasonable" is the key word here. It's as if people who think through normal issues and come to logical conclusions have TOTALLY LOST THE ABILITY TO REASON. Kerry cannot even decide what he believes, or where he was during the war, or how he got his 'awards'. Then there's the issue of his record after the war and in the Senate. His ANTI-military votes stand for themselves. These people REALLY think he will aggressively protect our country? I MEAN REALLY???? He said he wants to conduct a "sensitive, thoughtful" war. (Whatever that is). That will not get the job done. The terrorists aren't conducting 'sensitive' operations. He can't remember what he lied about just last week, let alone commit to an actual plan for the future of our country. Yet these people choose to ignore all of that and vote for "anyone but Bush".

That's just ignorance. IGNORANCE.

My conclusion about Democrats is that many of them are driven by emotion and pride more than by logical reasoning. Many of them vote for Democrats because of their emotional reaction to their mental concept of Republicans. For example they believe Republicans are rascist or sexist or just a bunch of rich WASP men sitting around in exclusive country clubs, and they react emotionally to their concept of who Republicans are and vote for Democrats in response. Blacks, hispanics, and jewish people tend to automatically vote for Democrats because they falsely believe that a significant number of Republicans discriminate against them, and their emotional response to this belief overwhelms all logical reasoning. The media, of course, eagerly pushes this false concept of Republicans onto the public with heavily screened and distorted "news" stories. The Dems feed the emotional storm with false attack ads like the infamous James Byrd attack ad on Bush. It takes great communicators like Reagan, Rush, Sean, GWB, Giuliani, and Arnold to convince people that Republicans are not a bunch of rich bigots and we are looking out for the intersts of everyone. All you can do is try to be friendly with Democrats and slowly persuade them to join our side.

God, I wish there were people there to heckle his butt.

Can the Swifties manage a way to get there and tell him about himself?

God, I wish they could!!!

They better ask him about his testimony and how that hurt the POWs. What about Kansas City? And meeting the VC in Paris?

Why did he ask to get out 8 months before his tour was done? Sampan incident!!! The phony purple hearts? Why does his biography place Rassman on a boat other than his in his Brinkley biography--the one he had ultimate control over.

"the press only reports on allegations against Kerry if and when they can discount or refute them. that is why they didnt even cover them for weeks, and why when they did the ir headlines were along the lines of "new evidence discounts swift vet story" ... breathlessly reporting the kerry side and ignoring the swift vet charges."

What is funny, they couldn't discount or refute the allegations of the Swift Boat Vets. Though the title of Dobb's article claims they do, Dobb's admits that he can't discredit them in the article.

"OTOH, i am *shocked* that the WashPost reconstruction and the events around the Rassman rescue have forced a complete revision in the Kerry story-line and the media says the SWIFT VETS story is suspicious."

Great way to put it. This whole thing is strange.
