McGreevey Has Yet To Submit Resignation Letter Tue Aug 24 2004 9:31:09 ET

New Jersey Gov. James McGreevey has yet to submit an official letter of resignation, officials said Monday.

A spokesman for the Department of State confirmed that McGreevey, 12 days after his historic announcement, had not given them the required letter to abandon the governor's office before the end of his four-year term.

The EASTON EXPRESS TIMES report: "What he announced was his intention," Micah Rasmussen, a McGreevey spokesman, said of the timing of McGreevey's letter. 'It will be done at the appropriate time." Without the letter, under state law, a sitting elected official technically remains in office, officials said.

Notice the statement from Micah Rassmussen, that what McGreevy announced "was" his intention. Makes you wonder if it is still his intention doesn't it?

Looks to me like McGreevy had this all planned in advance. He will not file the required letter of resignation. As it gets closer to the time he is to step down, he will start a poor, pitiful me campaign, that evil right wingers want him out of office simply because he is gay.

I'm guessing he will come out and state he refuses to step down, in alliance with his homosexual brothers and sisters who've been forced out of their homes/jobs etc for being gay. He'll turn this into a civil rights issue.

Just my two cents.

Is it too early to hit on Mrs. McGreevey?
