Why not?

Because, in terms of the anti-Kerry side of the campaign, it happens to dovetail very nicely with Bush's "John Kerry Says ... John Kerry Does" ads.

Put together in one package, the SwiftVet ads say "JF'nK was a stinking liar," and the RNC ads say "and he still is."

What that does, is allow Bush to use his convention speech to define his accomplishments and goals, and stay above the fray.

And, it now amazes me that some people never discuss politics as part of their life - while we are glued to all the talk shows day and night.

I find that amazing as well. I know several people who say, "Politics just doesn't interest me" and spend their tv time watching reality shows and soap operas. (Aside: One lady in our neighborhood was angry about news coverage pre-empting her favorite soap ON SEPTEMBER 12, 2001. I couldn't believe it. I cried for weeks and here she was the next day demanding that life get back to normal.) Anyway, I think these folks just don't realize how great an effect elections and elected officials have on practically every aspect of our lives. Make one wrong choice and we all live with it for years.

Another attempt at a haiku:

Bob Dole, war hero:
"John Kerry, apologize!"
No word from horseface.

Is Oliphant the twit who wears a bow tie?

Tommy is right out of an episode of Peewee's Playhouse.

He's a slimy little S.O.B. who works the dirty back alleys of politics for the Boston Globe.

We don't disagree. Scarborough is a flake.

Actually, I think Matthews is smarter and knows more
about politics. He's at least a pro, whereas Scarborough
is an amateur and comes across as one. Matthews obviously
is more liberal, but Scarborough falls into the trap of
many conservatives ... bending over backwards to appear
fair, unbiased, etc. From what I've seen of Joe, he doesn't
do a good job of advocating our side. All in all, life's
too short to watch his show.

I'm sure you are right.

In fact, I use to be uninterested myself - until I saw Al Gore trying to steal an election. Then I realized I had better start paying attention.
