Did the researchers control for the number of sexual partners the women had unprotected sex with? I would think that women who have many partners would be more likely to use Depro Provera than women who are in monogamous relationships.

What I heard on the radio news report, the women did not wear condoms and had multiple sexual partners. You think they would have listened to their health teacher about these things. You play, you pay. In NJ, mandatory family life classes begin in the FIRST grade.

And they wonder why AIDS is going up.

As was mentioned in the article, those who chose Depo Provera might have liked the hidden nature of this drug.

Young females starting their sexual life who want to conceal said sexual activity may well have behavioral predispositions, or social pressures, which result in more risky sexual choices.

Sounds like the purpose of this research was to get more grants to pursue research on my previous question. They might not have initially had the funds to do as detailed a study as they wanted.

so, they gave a number of young ladies an oral contraceptive, and some of them went on a sex binge that would shame an alley cat, and scientists are surprised that more of them got the clap? this actually buttresses the old conservative argument that contraceptives increase the occurrence of (meaningless) sex.

Depo Provera in animals causes pyometra. It was used as a contraceptive in dogs and cats until about 1982 when its use was proved to be detrimental to the health of dogs and cats. I could not believe it was approved for use as a contraceptive for women.

Not to be trite, but anywhere between six and nine months of age your Weinereater begin to act like a teenager in lust. Not only will she bleed everywhere but she will back up to fences if a male is near and run off to get laid. Pubescent hormone spikes are a pain in the butt.
