EAGLE, Colo. — Multi-colored scribble clutters most of the white chalkboard calendar in the local sheriff's office. But only two words cover the last few days of August and the entire month of September.
Eagle County cops aren't the only ones clearing their plates for the culmination of the sexual assault case against Kobe Bryant. Lawyers have spent 14 months battling over evidence. Nearly 1,000 county residents have been asked to report Friday for jury duty.
And after weeks of indecisiveness by Bryant's accuser, there now are strong indications that she is prepared to testify, which is essential to the prosecution.
"If she is strong and points across the courtroom and says, 'That man raped me,' that is very powerful," said Norm Early, a longtime Denver prosecutor who has attended most of Bryant's pretrial hearings.

Bryant is no different - a man lucky enough to have been born a genetic freak who makes an obscene salary for being able to throw a small ball into a basket from about 30 feet away successfully in about eight out of every ten tries. That's it, that's all she wrote - end of talent.

I dated a woman back in the 70's, I had been out with her twice, but not slept with her, when she was date-raped. I helped her back to normalcy. It took 3 weeks before I could hold her without her shuddering. It took another 3 weeks before she could consider intimacy.
ABSOLUTLEY no woman sleeps with someone else within 24 hours after a rape.

No, I'm not a woman. But I have been in several intimate relationships with rape victims. The 22 year old medical student who was gang-raped as a virgin at a picnic. The 21 year old nursing student who was raped by an Egyptian anesthesiologist during a lunch date. The Ex-wife who was orally raped at knifepoint at age 14 by an ex-con.
I know alot about women's aftermath emotions after rape. I know quite a bit about how to console a victim, even years after the event. You can call me a callous sexist pig if you choose, but the three victims who loved me and benefited from my love and support, are still very grateful.
