Kerry apologist Brinkley is now on Hardball, with Buchanan.
one man's opinion

Posted on 08/23/2004 4:10:46 PM PDT by ken5050

Key question..Kerry has given his wartime journal to Brinkley, said that's why he can't releasde it to the press. Will he be asked to make them public?..or will they all go in the tank

Buchanan is an isolationist. He is against Iraq and has a different view than Pres. Bush. He is particularly against our policy in Israel and hate Bush I with a passion-no doubt. I watched Buchanan when he was filling in for Scarborough. I got to tell you he was quite good and was particularly good about the Swift Boat Vets...I haven't read the book, but if it came out recently, it was written a while back. Buchanan can be an idiot, but I believe he loves this country and does not want to see Kerry elected.

The Navy Records are Wallace's talking points on medals but he does say Cambodia phony and wounds were not serious.

O'Reilly skewering press for rank hypocrisy of media...went to the "slander party".. on Bush but are outraged over swiftboat ads....

Here is O'Reilly on the Swiftboat ads, I assume he is holding his position, and not being a hypocrit ...

Unresolved Problems Segment
Anti-Kerry swiftboat ad
A new right-wing TV ad is very disturbing, which slanders Sen. John Kerry. We'll have an analysis.

BillOReilly.com: The O'Reilly Factor (08/05/04) <-- His words

* TRUTH IN ADVERTISING:
In a new television ad, some Vietnam veterans question John Kerry's judgment and truthfulness during his tour in Vietnam. Fox News political analyst Dick Morris called the ad "stupid and dangerous." The Factor pointed out that Kerry's record is beyond reproach: "John Kerry volunteered for combat duty in Vietnam; he won three Purple Hearts, a Silver Star, and a Bronze Star. That's the record... and I just think this ad is terribly exploitative."

When I posted my suspicions that Mathews probably had read the book now, I had jumped in to the end of the thread. After starting from the 1st of the thread, I see that you had already posted the same! Sorry for the seeming echo effect though.

Chris slammed Michelle again when he said "Michelle or something." Gave the impression that she was inconsequential. She burned him, and he just had to get back in that low way. Shows what kind of immature, rude, and biased person HE is.

I am aware of all that.

My comments were

a) transcribing what Matthews was saying today

and

b) highlighting the outrageous and disrespectful way he referred to her as "Michelle Malkin or something".

But thanks anyway.

BTW, it didn't "pay off" since Matthews may have a show to keep pushing his version but he did not win the day. No, as is being reported from Fox now, there is real evidence that Kerry's first purple heart was indeed due to a self-inflicted wound and Major Garrett with Fox must have some real documentation since he got a member of the Kerry Kamp to concede that. Some "pay off".

Also, I took a peek at Keith Olbermann and he was yammering about two Swift Vets claiming today they've been misquoted by the group. Olbermann called the Kerry Kamp defensive actions "impressive". I call Olbermann a dolt. Anyone know what he's talking about re the 2 SVs and the supposed claim? (I switched the channel)

Kerry's mispronunciation of GHENGIS is what gave Galanti the clue that the man who caused his torture was Kerry.

He state he never knew who it was until recently when he heard the replay of Kerry's testimony. He said his hair stood on end when he heard that voice. Said he thought it couldn't possibly be a naval officer because of the mispronunciation.

Doesn't g-d work in mysterious ways?

I was addicted to Matthews for about a year; then I discovered FreeRepublic, and now I don't need Matthews. What a relief!

If Kerry really had the gall to do this, I would hope that Bob Dole didn't take the call.

He took it all right.

Brinkley: "shrapnel in the arm is only a bit away from being shrapnel in the eye and that would have left him blinded".

Nah, it was in so shallow, it wouldn't have gotten past his eyelid.

I watched tonight to see if Matthews had any integrity at all and would he apologize to Ms. Malkin. No freaking way.

But here's the funny part. My wife is watching with me and she is almost 100% apolitical. I made the comment that Matthews has a funny looking mouth. My wife says "he looks like a Charlie McCarthy dummy". She then says "maybe he had surgery so he could talk faster". I still have tears from laughing so hard as I type this. She sure could figure out Matthews real fast!

Wallace contends that all the "evidence" (Navy records, citations, etc.) supports Kerry's account.

The SBV's have only their word, which Wallace would have you believe is trumped by the cherry-picked docs that Lurch allowed to be made public.

Brinkley: "shrapnel in the arm is only a bit away from being shrapnel in the eye and that would have left him blinded".

A grown man SAID that? He!!, NASCAR drivers miss the wall and each other by more than that distance each and every weekend. (space between arm and eye.) They do so at over 180 MPH. Does little Douglas have any testosterone in his body?

One thing about all these toadies supporting Kerry---when the wheels come off for the last time, they go down with him. Can't wait...

Guess what -- Chris Matthews READ THE BOOK over the weekend!

That's the first thing I thought of. He's still on the rag about Michelle Malkin, tho.

Didn't I read in one of the threads that she said they kept her copy when they threw her off the show?

"Buchanan can be an idiot, but I believe he loves this country and does not want to see Kerry elected."

In the last election pat buchanan:

1) Publicly stated on TV that Al Gore was more qualified to be President than Governor Bush.

2) Used his campaign war chest to run attack ads against Governor Bush (not Al Gore) in the most hotly contested states; this despite his word of honor that he wouldn't. Honor means nothing to him.

3) In the days of the Florida debacle, buchanan publicly stated that he believed he had mistakenly received votes that should be Gores.

For the past three years buchanan has written scores of articles attacking the President and doing everything he can to undermine the President.

buchanan loves himself and his bitterness, and his own greed, far more then he considers America...and yes, he is AGAIN attempting to swing voters away from President Bush.

Thank you.

Michelle seems to believe that Kerry might have shot himself on purpose.

I've never heard that before, so technically I support Matthews on this one.

But he didn't seem too interested in letting her speak. He wanted a witch to burn. What is he afraid of?

" Chris Wallace carrying Kerry's water on O'Reilly"

It's amazing that Wallace and O'Reilly don't seem to understand that it was probably Kerry who wrote the paperwork for his own citations.
Or that there are 100 pages of docs that the Kerry refuses to allow the Navy to release- which would certainly clear up the mystery surrounding the Vietnamby Pamby.
According to Wallace, no docs or proof exists which would validate the SBVFT.
He obviously hasn't read the book.
Guess if OJ authored his own alibi, Wallace would wave it around as proof that OJ was innocent.
