Key question..Kerry has given his wartime journal to Brinkley, said that's why he can't releasde it to the press. Will he be asked to make them public?..or will they all go in the tank
Brinkley conveniently ignored the date conflict where Kerry writes in the diary that they are cocky because they hadn't been shot at yet.......THIS AFTER KERRY RECEIVES HIS FIRST PURPLE HEART.
Kerry called Dole this morning to give him a chance to jump on board before he unleashed his forces on him.""
If Kerry really had the gall to do this, I would hope that Bob Dole didn't take the call.
Kerry isn't fit to shine the shoes of a vet like Bob Dole.
O'Reilly skewering press for rank hypocrisy of media...went to the "slander party".. on Bush but are outraged over swiftboat ads....
HYPOCRISY ON PARADE..
#173.
Dole had an earlier injury from a misthrown grenade which gave him a splinter. He jokes about it. Got a citation.
It was "self-inflicted" but incurrd during the "heat of battle", so he qualified.
Kerry's 3d Purple Heart was the rice incident. Arguably it would not qualify, and would not be a ticket home. Arguably he attributed that wound to the "mine" incident later that same day for his ticket home.
Sure...and his anti-Bush book that he released on Friday is a campaign contribution. buchanan is a liar.
Turned the TV off when I saw Wallace's ugly face.
I am ready to BOYCOTT SPITBALL'S Sponsors!
Chris Wallace carrying Kerry's water on O'Reilly
That's the first thing I thought of. He's still on the rag about Michelle Malkin, tho.
Matthews is still suffering from his rabies attack on Friday.
He seems somewhat calmer, but he still shows that hate in his face. Perhaps it was just a spitting emotional breakdown. The jerk acted like he couldn't remember Michele Malkin's name.
We agree on that!
An Old ABC hack - what do you expect.
...sheesh, this is getting pathetic
Did Chrissy ACTUALLY say something against Dole's wounds from WWII????
MALKIN: Well, yes. Why dont people ask him more specific questions about the shrapnel in his leg. They are legitimate questions about whether or not it was a self-inflicted wound. (CROSSTALK) MATTHEWS: What do you mean by self-inflicted? Are you saying he shot himself on purpose? Is that what youre saying? MALKIN: Did you read the book... MATTHEWS: Im asking a simple question. Are you saying that he shot himself on purpose. MALKIN: Im saying some of these soldiers... MATTHEWS: And Im asking question. MALKIN: And Im answering it. MATTHEWS: Did he shoot himself on purpose. MALKIN: Some of the soldiers have made allegations that these were self-inflicted wounds. MATTHEWS: No one has ever accused him of shooting himself on purpose. MALKIN: That these were self-inflicted wounds. MATTHEWS: Your saying there arehe shot himself on purpose, thats a criminal act? MALKIN: Im saying that Ive read the book and some of the... (CROSSTALK) MATTHEWS: I want an answer yes or no, Michelle. MALKIN: Some of the veterans say... MATTHEWS: No. No one has every accused him of shooting himself on purpose. MALKIN: Yes. Some of them say that. MATTHEWS: Tell me where that... MALKIN: Self-inflicted woundsin February, 1969. MATTHEWS: This is not a show for this kind of talk. Are you accusing him of shooting himself on purpose to avoid combat or to get credit? MALKIN: Im saying thats what some of these... MATTHEWS: Give me a name. MALKIN: Patrick Runyan (ph) and William Zeldonaz (ph). MATTHEWS: They saidPatrick Runyan... MALKIN: These people have... MATTHEWS: And they said he shot himself on purpose to avoid combat or take credit for a wound? MALKIN: These people have cast a lot of doubt on whether or not... MATTHEWS: Thats cast a lot of doubt. Thats complete nonsense. MALKIN: Did you read the section in the book... MATTHEWS: I want a statement from you on this program, say to me right, that you believe he shot himself to get credit for a purpose of heart. MALKIN: Im not sure. Im saying... MATTHEWS: Why did you say? MALKIN: Im talking about whats in the book. MATTHEWS: What is in the book. Is thereis there a direct accusation in any book youve ever read in your life that says John Kerry ever shot himself on purpose to get credit for a purple heart? On purpose? MALKIN: On. MATTHEWS: On purpose? Yes or no, Michelle. MALKIN: In the February 1969 -- in the February 1969 event. MATTHEWS: Did he say on it purpose. MALKIN: There are doubts about whether or not it was intense rifle fire or not. And I wish you would ask these questions of John Kerry instead of me. MATTHEWS: I have never heard anyone say he shot himself on purpose. I havent heard you say it. MALKIN: Have you tried to askhave you tried ask John Kerry these questions? MATTHEWS: If he shot himself on purpose. No. I have not asked him that. MALKIN: Dont you wonder? MATTHEWS: No, I dont. Its never occurred to me. Look, thank you Mayor Brown. Well stay with Michelle Malkin. Still ahead, David Gergen and Dana Milbank on the battle for the White House. We are going to keep things clean on this show. No irresponsible comments are going to be made on the show. And dont forget you can keep up with presidential race on Hardblogger, our election blog Web site. Just go to hardball.msnbc.com.
Isn't this Brinkley person the son of David Brinkley?
His father must really be proud of him- as he turns 360's wherever he is, in his grave.
I think Gergen is miffed because he hasn't been called in to help with this administration. Hasn't he helped all Dems. and Republicans in the past? He's slimey.
and he went a whole program without blaming everything on Scooter Libby..
Or as Matthews calls her......
"Michelle Malkin or something"
Did you perchance listen to Hannity today?
He had a 6-yr POW, Paul Galanti, on. Galanti describes having that tape played for him incessantly when he was in captivity. Initially, he thought it was a lie -- it wasn't really a Naval officer saying those things.
Eventually, he could cite the speech from memory -- especially the annoying "Jhenjhis Khan".
Upon his return, Galanti buried the memory. Until, years later, this Spring, he heard a replay of the speech. When he heard "Jhenjhis Khan", the hairs on the back of his neck stood up. Finally, he had made the connection -- "that Naval officer" was running for President.
