We all know the Eastern Blocs dominance in the Olympics was drug enhanced.
Then there was the case of all those Chinese swimmers smashing every record by huge margins...all those results were thrown out.
From an athlete's perspective, wouldn't the win mean less if you knew you won by doping?
Sure, but cheaters can rationalize anything. Winning is more important than feeling pure about winning, I suppose.
I have no affinity for cheaters, whether it's from using a syringe, or foot-wedging a golf ball to a better lie. It's the principle involved.
If Lauryn Williams got silver because some other chick was slamming syringes into her butt, then I'd get very upset.
But, as of now, I have to assume the Belarussian woman got it fair and square.
Forget Marion Jones -- Lauryn Williams is the real deal.
