I assume you're Ivan Groznii (aka MadIvan) - I could be wrong. But if you are in fact both, what work of your own are you making fun of? If you're MadIvan and not Groznii, what work of Groznii's are you parodying? Parody works better if the underlying work is known. Please help me find the joke I missed.

It's a parody of McGreevey's speech and trying to prove the following point: my confession is irrelevant in relation to anything else that I've done. Similarly, McGreevey's confession should be irrelevant in relation to what he's done, and similarly, Clinton's confession in August 1998 should be irrelevant in relation to what he's done. However because they're Democrats, the confession is all, and with the help of the media and the Democrat Party, obscures the truth.

By the way, click the link, read the entire thing, please. It would have been clear if you had.

Oh, and regarding the name... you managed to "search (for) and recover" your brain yet? Or is this still a little over your head?

It's a parody of McGreevey's speech

I appreciate your effort, but I'd send it back for rewrite. Couple of things - would have been stronger if you followed his text more, specifically, started out with that truly horrid line about "My truth is that I'm a gay American" (you - my truth is that I'm a goth conservative or whatever). Second, didn't mention his/your understanding family.

I saw the McG press conference, I read excerpts from that speech - your parody just didn't ring true with me.

And as for clicking on the link to get a better understanding - why not just post the whole article (they're usually excerpted only when other websites refuse full posting). I doubt that's the case with your own website.

You'll understand if I am less inclined to accept the criticisms of someone who decided to attack first, ask questions later. Second, the speech was followed as closely as possible so as not to seem ridiculous.

I saw the McG press conference, I read excerpts from that speech - your parody just didn't ring true with me.

See above. You chose to attack first, ask questions later. It's not entirely my fault it went over your head. People who were not prepared for the article, read it, got it immediately.

And as for clicking on the link to get a better understanding - why not just post the whole article (they're usually excerpted only when other websites refuse full posting). I doubt that's the case with your own website.

You presume a great deal on how to write, what to post, and how to post it for someone who thought it was a great idea to first respond with uncomprehending insults rather than queries.

My, you get a tad cranky when someone has to gaul to critique your work. Sorry you have trouble writing humor.

Rhetorical question - what's the difference between putting a vanity article on fr and shameless self-promotion of your vanity website?

I dare say that you have more trouble comprehending humour than I have writing it. Those who can do, those who can't, snipe from the sidelines.

Un-rhetorical answer. It's not a vanity website, it's an active community and online journal. Before you put out "rhetorical" criticisms of RightGoths, perhaps you ought to have a word with the likes of CrushKerry.com as well.

What's the difference between someone who's been here over a year and hasn't posted anything about themselves, even a location, on their "About Page", and YOU?

Oh, I'M sorry. I WAS talking about you.

Do you just ramble around looking for other people's work to pick to pieces? It sure seems like it.

LOL! Now that's funny. See, you're getting better already. Practice makes perfect. Just remember: those who can do, do.

You never answered my question. Did the search and recovery team ever find:
a) Your brain, or
b) Your respect for other FReepers?

'Cos it looks from here, buddy, like both are still MIA...

(or Missing in INACTION, more like.)

Apart from making pig ignorant posts and ruin threads, I haven't seen you do much of anything. God help anyone you are charged with "searching for" and "recovering".

Anyway, I hope you're satisfied. You've managed to twist a thread which was trying to make a political point, whether you enjoyed the way it was put or not, into a flame war.

The old Latin saying applies in your case - Si tacuisses, philosiphus manuisses - if you'd said nothing, you'd have been thought clever.

You are such a righteous victim. Can't wait for your next comedy bit. Hey, I've got an idea - why don't you ping me when you publish it?

Excuse me, but let's go through the following:

  1. I didn't ping you to this thread.
  2. I didn't force you to attack me without having read it fully.
  3. I didn't ask for your sniping.
  4. I didn't ask for your posturing now.

My responses are merely a reaction to an unprovoked attack on your part, and the fact that you obviously can't read, have zero manners, and haven't a clue what you're talking about. I'd no sooner ping you to a thread than I'd invite you to dinner, and unless we're having Arsenic Au Gratin, that's not likely, old boy.

Well, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. In the future, in order to avoid similiar confusions, I suggest the following:

1. If it's a vanity post, put the word "vanity" somewhere in the title.
2. If you're writing humor or parody - mention it somewhere either in the title, an introductory paragraph, or somewhere at the end.

These two rules will help avoid a lot of confusion. Thanks.

"That's strange, I've been listening to Siouxsie today."

I'm not goth, but I do get a kick out of Siouxsie's "Happy House".

If it's a vanity post, put the word "vanity" somewhere in the title.

It appears, published on another site. Therefore it's not a vanity post.

If you're writing humor or parody - mention it somewhere either in the title, an introductory paragraph, or somewhere at the end.

I'll draw it in Crayolas next time. Most people would have presumed from the phrase "bodacious tatas" that this was not supposed to be taken entirely seriously. But presumably it needs to be close-captioned for the humour impaired.

Oi. You. Cease and Desist. NOW.

Yeah. You. STOP IT.

You don't seem capable of comprehending words of more than one syllable, so I do hope most of that message got through.

You. Cease and Desist. NOW. Yeah. You. STOP IT.

Would have been much more effective if the text was bigger and bolder. Perhaps you should study html. Oh well. Anyway, I have an idea - no. Try and censor someone else. All my points were valid - you can't argue against that so you resorted to personal attacks. You lose.
