Years ago before Dougie was born, he sent lots of stuff to Rush, including 6 custom coffee mugs, each with a limerick attacking a certain RAT. Dougie never heard a thing from him.
I'm thinking the novelty of this book having been written by a child might appeal to Rush. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
(Too bad about the coffee mugs though. You know, with something like that, there's always the possibility that the mugs never made it past the "call screeners.") ;)
