MCCAIN: You should be ashamed -- you should be ashamed of sponsoring an event with that man there who had attacked your own father.
BUSH: The man was not speaking for me. If you want to know my opinion about you, John, you served our country admirably and strongly, and I'm proud of your record, just like you are.
And I don't appreciate what he said about my dad, either. But let me say something, if you're going to be -- hold me responsible for what people for me say, I'm going to do the same for you. And let me give you one example.
Warren Rudman, the man who you had as your campaign man in New Hampshire, said about the Christian Coalition that they're bigots. He talked about the Christian Coalition in a way that was incredibly strong. I know you don't believe that, do you?
MCCAIN: George, he's entitled to his opinion on that issue.
BUSH: Well, so is this man.

Let's talk about honor, John McCain. You have SOLD OUT - abandoned your party and your name is being used by the decitful traitorous coward that is John Kerry. He's taking your reputation down along with him. I suggest you denounce John Kerry as quickly as possible.
Thanks, I was wondering what Bush said.
McCain-McGreevey perfectly Gay toghether!
If I see McCain's lips moving... I assume he is lying about something.
If I see McCain's lips moving while on CNN... I assume he is lying about a fellow Republican.
This method has proven reliable -- nay: virtually infallible -- for over twenty years. :)
What?
I believe you're referencing "Brave New World" by Huxley. In it he had a character state that after so many repititions (somewhere around 68-70k) something would become true.
Unlikely, every avowed liberal thinks his full speech is a work of art.
If McCain had an ounce of honesty in him, he would denounce the MoveOn.org's out there, instead of trying to look like a political stooge by denouncing the Swift Boat Vets ad for all the wrong reasons.
That's the one! Thanks. Brain is not working anymore. Too tired.
REPUBLICAN"S PARTY must do something about McCAIN NOW!!!!!
Perhaps he is damaged goods, as rumored.
Need we go any further. We have to face facts, the only way Kerry's people could run that ad is with McCains concent. McCain is like pat buchanan...out for himself ONLY!
Why do his voters keep electing him? It's time for a change.
We really don't know what McCain is doing at this point. I think that Smithee is correct to the extent that the Dems believe that a wedge can be driven between Bush and McCain on this issue.
However, we should wish for the best possible outcome here. That would be that the Dem ads push McCain to the point where he reads Unfit for Command. McCain might just change his tune.
If McCain joined Dole going after Kerry on this issue, then the jig is truly up!
You don't go around giving free beer to minors. That was mistake #1 McCain made. I don't care if he tried to distance himself from that assertion. His campaign staff should have been taken to the woodshed, but weren't.
Yes we do...he's not demanding the Kerry campaign cease the ad. If he did they would have to pull it.
Let's hope McCain uses his time on the podium of the Republican National Convention to do what you suggest. It would be sufficient to turn the tide.
Why would they pull it? They didn't pull the Swiftvet picture from the website when requested. The Dems don't play by the same rules.
Employing McCain's face on these ads would just give more punch when McCain goes after them publicly. Let's hope that that is what happens.
McCain already drove a wedge in between him and President Bush, as McCain denounced the SBVFT ad, and not a single damn moveon.org ad. This exchange was edited way too damn much. Most of the comments didn't even flow all together like it did in the ad. (if you read the full transcript). This Dem ad seeks to drive that wedge between Bush and McCain even further, to the point McCain is a liability for Bush.
