I wonder what McCain thinks about the new ad.

If I had Kerry's PH's, earned or not, I sure wouldn't brag about them out loud.

Heres a Letter to the Editor I just sent to our local rag. Feel free to copy and send to yours as well. Seems timely.
Dear Sir or Madam,
Below is a Letter to the Editor on which I would appreciate your consideration. Please call me if you have questions concerning this submission. Thank you for your consideration.
Also, should you elect to print this letter, please use my email address with my name so anyone that would like to comment may via email.
=======
Kerry Cant Stand the Heat
Wasn't it John Kerry who recently said "Bring it on" if anyone wanted to scrutinize his often repeated exploits during and after the Vietnam War? That brings to mind a schoolboy picking a fight in a school yard and hoping the target doesnt take him up on it.
Now, 254 of his former Swift Boat crewmates who have signed affidavits and are appearing in Television ads against him took him up on his call out. Former POWs are speaking out stating the congressional testimony John Kerry gave was fodder for the Vietnamese as they were tortured. They took Sen. Kerry up on his attempted intimidation.
Now Mr. Kerry would like them to back off. Using the same analogy he is begging for someone, anyone to make them stop. However, Kerry's actions during and upon his return from Vietnam should not be beyond reproach. His anti-war actions and allegations against veterans should not be shielded from scrutiny.
Instead of taking the positive approach that he said he would, Kerry (as most liberals) sees all manner of conspiracies in the opposition. President Bush on the other hand has endured a year of daily lambasting by Kerry surrogates and a willing media partner. I dont recall President Bush once asking someone, anyone to pull them off.
As a veteran, which type of individual do I want in my foxhole?
=======
Thank you for your consideration. We enjoy and rely on your paper!
Respectfully yours,
Me

Well, he himself made them, along with his service, the centerpiece of his campaign.
I could understand it not being an issue if Kerry never mentioned it, but that's the only thing he has (or so he thought).

Thanks Gunny!
You cost me another $50 bucks for my brother's neighbor Willis.
I have told the story on another thread about Willis.
Several years before his death, my wife and I, my brother and his wife were swimming at Willis's house one night. I noticed a wicked scar Willis had on his knee and asked if he got it playing football. Since both my brother and I had scarred knees from our football careers at The Citadel, I thought Willis might have been another football pro wannabe.
Willis just chuckled and said it was an old war wound.
After further probing, we learned that Willis was a real, live, snake-eating, jump out of planes that don't have a fricking thing wrong with them Green Beret.
Willis's words:
"That little old scar? Well, I've done a lot of dumbass things in my life but that one took the proverbial cake. Got cut off from my team and about 30 little shits in black PJ's took me prisoner. First night I almost escaped so the next night they took a bayonet and shoved it through my knee joint and ran a steel wire through it and tied it to a tree so I couldn't run off. Damn thing was still festering when I was released two years later."
After commenting on how much it must have hurt, Willis said the biggest hurt was hearing how some Vets were saying things about us that he saw the Viet Cong doing.
"I didn't, and nobody I know didn't do any of the shit those assholes said we did. But I damn sure saw a lot of what those little turds in the black PJ's did, and it wasn't pretty."
This next $50 is for you Willis....RIP!
BTW...Don 't feel too sorry for Willis...As he also said, he found the magic lamp and got his three wishes. A beautiful wife with big breasts who's father owned a chain of liquor stores.

"DU has a Dole bashing thread running right now. According to them, he ain't worth spit and some of his medals are in question."
Except Dole has a very visible injury. It's going to be hard for the Dems to attack him.
I hope the Kerry campaign sinks. But, we need to be careful. If he becomes too much of a liability, they'll try and switch him at the last minute. I'm from NJ, so I'm always on the lookout for that, now.

Great story about a real American hero. Thanks for making a contribution in his name. By the way, I loved your last line!

Actually, I think what Dole was doing (when he gave advice to Kerry a while back) was shrewdly laying the groundwork for what he (Dole) is saying now. I'll bet you Dole has long resented Kerry's slander of other Vietnam Vets, and knew that his (Dole's) advice to Kerry would fall on deaf ears...but would lend credibility to Dole's criticism later on. Way to go, Dole! It's going to be very tough for the Dems to dismiss Dole.

Gunny, I wish everybody could have spent an evening with Willis. Some day I will have to write a book about the guy.
After his funeral, his wife invited us to view his "shrine."
I never knew one person could have so much fruit salad on his tunic. It took me over an hour to read his commendations from Korea and Viet Nam.

Vote for Bob Dole

John Edwards said Bush needs to tell the group to pull its adsFirst, Mr Edwards has to realize that the 'group' is a legally formed 527 group and that it would be illegal for Mr Bush to tell the group to pull its ads. Doesn't this John Edwards fellow know anything about the law?????????
To: eeriegeno
Edwards & Kerry know full well that Bush can't stop the Swiftvet ads. However, they also know that the public likely doesn't know that, and that the pro-Kerry media won't explain it to the public.
