C'mon, folks!

You know I'm getting desperate when I'm pinging people who live in New England, for a congressional race that's taking place in New York City.

At least give this guy a chance.

He's conservative.

He's Republican.

And best of all, he's not Nydia Velasquez.

PAUL RODRIGUEZ FOR CONGRESS (12th congressional district)

Does he have a website?

What is his Date of birth?

I will gladly do a Gen-X ping if he was born between 1965 and 1979

I know that you usually stick to posting important articles/opinion pieces, but I figured that I might as well alert you to an interesting thread, which involves a congressional campaign being waged against Nydia Velasquez by a fellow freeper, Paul Rodriguez.

Please alert any other New Yorkers who might be interested in learning more about this race.

SEE!

You have you own ping, that's how special you are.

THANKS KATTRACKS!

Frank, do we have the website up and running yet?

We have an interested NJ freeper.

I know him quite well. Among other things, he's the President of the NY Young Republican Club, a solid conservative who's right on all the issues and just an overall great guy. :)

So, for all of you New York freepers, or freepers who have the misfortune of being exiled from the "Empire State" but still treasure the memories of your ancestral homeland, here is a brief synopsis of what went down yesterday afternoon and evening, when we hit the streets of Bklyn. and Queens in support of our dear friend, Paul Rodriguez.

Basically, we covered some heavily hispanic neighborhoods along the Queens-Brooklyn border, whose local representation includes perennial Democratic officeholder, Vito Lopez.

We got a pretty warm welcome, with a few notable exceptions. For the most part, the people who live in section of Velasquez's district are under-served and underrepresented by their putative representatives in Washington D.C.

The highlight of our day occurred when we encountered a friendly Spanish storekeeper as we were heading out of the borough. He was so impressed with Paul's initiative and determination, that he immediately ripped the campaign posters advertising Lopez and Dilan from his front desk and threw them into the garbarge. Of course, he vowed to replace them with several new ones, each of them with a brief, declarative statement indicating his party preference this election season.

Overall, it was a pretty interesting experience, at least, from my perspective.

Paul Rodriguez for Congress

Thanks for the bump!

Paul Rodriguez is running for the U.S. House of Representatives this year.

Though, you may folks may know him better as Parodrig.

I'll see if I can find the three people eligible for absentee voting in the the district. :-)

BREAK A LEG!

BTW: I miss having Vito Fosella as my congressman instead of the hideous Baghdad Jim McDermott.

Thanks, man!

Whatever you can do to help will be greatly appreciated by all of us back in Brooklyn.

I can only imagine the way you must feel at this moment.

Transitioning from Fosella to McDermott is kind of like making the switch from Pepsi-cola to antifreeze.

I suppose that it's not exactly a pleasant experience.

Thanks for checking in, guys.

Anyone that's up for a good walkabout is welcome to join us.

I think there's still some time to register voters, though you'd have to check with Frank or Paul, just to make sure.

I'm not a details type of guy.

Lazy bum!

Seriously, there are a couple of freepers who do these things on a regular basis, though I can't for the life of me recall any of their screen names, with the possible exception of Dr. Raoul.

If anyone can part with a few dollars, I'm sure that Paul would be very appreciative, seeing as how his campaign is strapped for cash.

Other than that, I suppose that the best thing you could do is alert other NYC freepers to this thread. Perhaps some of them can be of help to Paul's race against the noisome Nydia Velasquez.
