Ok, I get it now.
"As the Times also reported, Nixon's political henchman, Chuck Colson, had specifically recruited the Navy lieutenant, like Kerry a swift boat commander in the war, to debate the antiwar movement's freshest star on Dick Cavett's television program."

The Times may have reported this junk, but that doesn't make it so, as is the case with so much of what the NYT "reports." O'Neill was not recruited to debate Kerry on the Cavett program. He had already been signed up before Colson ever heard of him. So now I know beyond any doubt that Oliphant is a liar. Thanks, alydar. I appreciate it.

In his remarkably thorough book on Kerry’s formative youth, Douglas Brinkley tells a story about the two of us in the moments just before Kerry..........Thomas Oliphant.Link: http://www.prospect.org/web/page.ww?section=root&name=ViewPrint&articleId=8118

Now lets go to Alex Beam, another Globe columnist and get his take on this 'remarkably thorough' book(I did not condemn the Globe,in fact every other columnist over there has at one time or another taken shots at Kerry.Except one)http://www.boston.com/news/globe/living/articles/2004/04/29/historians_duty_pr_for_kerry/

PS: Oliphant's daughter works for Kerry's campaign,no? I never called Oliphant a liar.I have my opinion who orchestrated this editorial or at least had a say in what was going to be written today. You sir are entitled to your opinion and I am entitled to mine.
