Kerry, on the other hand, may have done more than Dole to qualify as a genuine war hero

Dear Ombudsman:
Tom Oliphant has reached a new low with his "Big Lies for Bush" piece. He should be fired as too partisan for even the Boston Globe.
First, Oliphant drags down Sen. Bob Dole by inventing a hypothetical situation in which Sen. Dole made up his own WW2 history and injuries, which has not been alleged by a single person. And then he compares this made-up scenario with the one now facing Sen. Kerry, who is fighting real allegations made by people who served with Sen. Kerry. Sen. Kerry has already changed key parts of his story, including the entire "Christmas in Cambodia" incident which your paper has previously published the uncut version that was a total fabrication.
And incredibly Oliphant has Sen. Kerry as the better of the two men. ("Kerry, on the other hand, may have done more than Dole to qualify as a genuine war hero")
Mr. Oliphant is a disgrace to your paper and his words are the rantings of a lunatic. You owe it to your shareholders to take action against such behavior.

But, he could well have.
When one of Dole's brothers in arms was shot he tried to rescue him Dole was shot and almost died. Dole is a hero and is the real thing.
When one of Kerry's brothers boat was blown up, Kerry said the others fled and he stayed. Today Kerry's campaign admits Kerry fled and the others stayed. Kerry is a lying coward.
Before Oliphant writes anymore about Kerry and his band of brothers, he should review the story of Cain and Able.
The issue here is, as I have heard it raised, is was he present and active in Alabama at the time he was supposed to be, said Kerry, a decorated Vietnam War veteran. I dont have the answer to that question and just because you get an honorable discharge does not in fact answer that question.
No it does not but I think it's safe to say Jeff Jacoby, Joan Vennocci,Derek Jackson or Alex Beam didn't write it since they have all been known to take shots at Gigolo John. David Nyhan isn't around anymore. Oliphant has been carrying Botox Boy's water for years. Here is the link to piece he did put his name on today and draw your own conclusion:

I remember how most of the people who came to Bubba's defense soon found themselves in deep do-do. I think it's going to happen to the Lurchites. I used to find people like Oliphant and Matthews at least tolerable. Now I find them to be stupid and despicable. Even if Kerry wins in November, his stooges will have already paid a big price in credibility.
Reminds me that Jason watshisname was a Pultizer prize winner as was the NYT's Walt Duranty....LBJ got a medal too for what ? a few minutes in an airplane?..Look it up to see how bad it was...................
Oliphant had constant access to the WH in the Clinton years and he's dying to get back in.
He'll McGreevy anybody to do it.
IMG! How low can you go? This editorial says it all. The Boston Globe defending John Kerry is one thing. In questioning the war record of Bob Dole, however, the BG has stepped over the bounds of decency. This is another despicable act coming from the media wing of the liberal establishment. The BG should be roundly denounced for fabricating tales that demean a man who was handicapped for life, defending his country in time of war.
Oops. correction. make that "OMG!", not IMG!.
Heres a Letter to the Editor I just sent to our local rag:

Kerry Cant Stand the Heat
Wasn't it John Kerry who recently said "Bring it on" if anyone wanted to scrutinize his often repeated exploits during and after the Vietnam War? That brings to mind a schoolboy picking a fight in school yard and hoping the target doesnt take him up on it.
Now, 254 of his former Swift Boat crewmates who have signed affidavits and are appearing in Television ads against him took him up on his call out. Former POWs are speaking out stating the congressional testimony John Kerry gave was fodder for the Vietnamese as they were tortured. They took Sen. Kerry up on his attempted intimidation.
Now Mr. Kerry would like them to back off. Using the same analogy he is begging for someone, anyone to make them stop. However, Kerry's actions during and upon his return from Vietnam should not be beyond reproach. His anti-war actions and allegations against veterans should not be shielded from scrutiny.
Instead of taking the positive approach that he said he would, Kerry (as most liberals) sees all manner of conspiracies in the opposition. President Bush on the other hand has endured a year of daily lambasting by Kerry surrogates and a willing media partner. I dont recall President Bush once asking someone, anyone to pull them off.
As a veteran, which type of individual do I want in my foxhole?

Thank you for your consideration. We enjoy and rely on your paper!
Respectfully yours,
Me
What you guys don't understand is that Dole only lost the use of his arm; Kerry lost his balls, thereby qualifying as a leftist hero.
In the Military there are no such things as Nazis.
When was the last time our troops were called:
fighting Republican Americans
or
hit by Democrat machine gun fire.
What blather....
Geez, buddy, were you paying attention at ALL during the Clinton years? If Vince Foster were alive, he might disagree with you.
Okay Let me see if I have this straight. Kerry says that the government, not he, lied about his presense in Cambodia, the memory of which is seared in him.
On the other hand there are all these "government" documents detailing the heroic exploits of one LTJG JF'in Kerry. Which government are we to believe John? Hmmmmmm?
The closest Tom "MMMMMmmmm lookit all dem muscles!" Oliphant has ever gotten to any United States soldier:
