Swiftboat Veterans for the Truth spokesman John O'Neill dared Sen. John Kerry on Sunday to sue him for libel if, as Kerry's presidential campaign maintains, key claims in O'Neill's book "Unifit for Command" are not true.
"I invite him to sue me for libel," O'Neill, who co-authored the overnight bestseller with Jerome Corsi, told WABC Radio's Monica Crowley. "If he was actually in Cambodia on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day he should sue me. If, in fact, those other five [Swift]boats, on March the 13, [1969], if they all fled like he did, instead of staying like he knows they did, he should sue me."O'Neill continued:
"If he didn't wound himself with a grenade - causing sort of a rice-fanny wound - and then reported it to the Navy as a water mine - if he didn't do that on March 13th should sue me."
O'Neill issued the challenge after noting that Kerry's campaign has gone to extraordinary lengths to supress the information in "Unfit for Command."
"On our first [Swiftvet] ad, he had two huge lawfirms send letters to every [TV] station, threatening to sue the stations themselves" if they ran the ad, the former Swiftboat commander told Crowley.
"The next thing he did was challenge the book's publisher, Regnery, indicating he would sue them if they continued printing the book," he added.
The bestselling author said that while Regnery declined to stop printing "Unfit," it offered to republish Kerry's 1971 book "The New Soldier," which chronicles the top Democrat's anti-war protests with a group bankrolled by Jane Fonda.
Kerry has declined to have "New Solidier" republished over the years and reportedly bought up most of the available copies in 1972, after his opponent in a congressional race used it to paint him as anti-American.
I ordered a softcopy of , The New Soldier, from here a few months ago.

JFK and his plants around the world and in Free Republic.
You don't need to post the picture again -- I saw it the first time.
Your whining about the Swiftvets and constant whining replies are excellent examples of why we need to be donating to SwiftVets to support these brave Vets like John O'Neill. Keep whining, and I will keep posting the link for freepers to donate to Swiftboat Vets.
Then, they can buy more ads to really drive the anti America Lunatic Lefties into a deeper insanity.

I resent your whining about my alleged "whining". I guess conservatives are never allowed to think for themselves but must all walk in jackbooted coordination with the party line?
Agreed, he has plants everywhere.
But he's a fruit and they are vegetables, so all we need to do is wait and watch them rot.

PDF soon to appear as a "public service", one hopes...
The rats would love that.
Kerry himself did not run on his postwar record.
Hanged on his own petard.
Works for me!
I am not defending JFKerry. I just think the Swift Vets would be smarter to focus on the Senate testimony.

JOHN KERRY'S presidential campaign, which slighted Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (news - web sites) during the Democratic convention last month, now wants the former first lady to lead its "truth squad" at next week's GOP convention, The Post has learned.
Party insiders said that aides to Clinton were engaged in "intensive talks" over the weekend with Kerry's representatives about the role she is expected to play.
"It will be high profile; she will be one of the responders at the convention, probably focusing on homeland security issues," said a source familiar with the talks. "I think it's fair to say the Kerry people realize Mrs. Clinton could be very effective."
Another insider said, "It's ironic that after they snubbed her in Boston, they now want to use her in New York." ...(Snip)

Recent quote from R. G. Burkett.
"And remember," adds Burkett, "this is not a bunch of Republicans going after Kerry. If Kerry were running as a Republican, the attacks would be just the same."
