Is MoveOn.org REALLY a 527 group?

I have the feeling MoveOn is a PAC. Are the no-fraternizing rules the same?

Their own website requires donors to certify the following:

So how does that square with reports of MILLIONS donated to moveon.org by several democRATS?

[as of April 2004, MoveOn's] first quarter fund raising showed nearly half its $6.98 million came from Peter Lewis, chairman of Progressive Corporation, a Cleveland insurance company, and billionaire philanthropist George Soros. Lewis has donated $2 million to the group and Soros has given more than $1 million, the San Francisco Chronicle reported Sunday.

There are two groups. Moveon.org and the Moveon PAC.

There are lots of non-profits (both conservative and liberal) which have a main group and then a PAC or other organization that can engage in more overt political activity such has donating to candidates.
