60+ SBV's on the record in "Unfit for Command" and the press response is ho-hum. ONE guy comes out in support of Kerry and it's the biggest news of the week--maybe even the month.

In all fairness he isn't the only one. But the numbers do lay with the Swift Boat vets.

He has no say in this matter he was not in the same boat as kerry,he said he was in the boat next to him.
To: Non-Sequitur
Kerry personally phoned this guy.
I wonder if Rood responded to the carrot or the stick?

Also,
I have seen other accounts that said there were 5 swift boats on the river that day.
Which is correct, 3 swift boats or 5 swift boats?

Kerry personally phoned this guy. I've seen a couple accounts of this so far and in none of them does it say that Kerry called the guy. Where did you see that?

I have seen other accounts that said there were 5 swift boats on the river that day. I think that you're thinking of a different incident. There have been so many that have been questioned that it's hard to keep them straight.

A little late for Mr. Rood to be getting in the game, isn't it?
I question the timing of this article.

A little late for Mr. Rood to be getting in the game, isn't it? When should he have gotten in?

This guys story conflicts with Kerry's more than it matches it.
Kerry claims he was the one who beached his boat first and charged a bunker of VC. From what I read last night, Rood says it was another crew who stormed the bunker and that John O'Neil is happy this guy came forward.

A little late for Mr. Rood to be getting in the game, isn't it? Quite the contrary, the timing is perfect. After the ad, the book and various other goings on, here comes Rood just in time for the Sunday shows. In the meantime, the partisan media are touting him as the latest refutation of the Swifties, coming just a day or so after they played up seeming the Bronze Star contradiction of Larry Thurlow.

Two different events. Three in the Silver Star event, where Kerry finished off the VC on dry land. Five in the command-detonated mine Bronze Star event, where Kerry fished Rasmussen out of the water (not) under fire.

This story also contradicts the story of one of Kerry's crew members that day Micheal Mendeiros given to I believe the Boston Globe in 1996.
Rooks story says that the VC wasn't wounded but in 1996 Mendeios stated that he had shot the VC in question before John Kerry chased him down and finished him off.
Since this contradicts Kerry's own crew member (on Kerry's boat), how can this in reality add anything to the debate? It doesn't, but as always the MSM will never let the facts get in their way to put life into the lying dirtbag John Kerry.

If he wanted to set the record straight, why not at the beiginning when this so-called 'smear' first came out?
The fact that it has been going on for about a month and only now when it has become something of a firestorm makes it look like damage control to me.

At the beginning of the article, Rood says he was contacted by John Kerry and that is why he spoke out.
