Never actually read Anais Nin, but poetry of hers (from The House of Incest) was set to music by Edguard Varese in an unfinished piece called Nocturnal. It was Varese's last piece; it was completed by a student of his. If you enjoy mid 20th century avante garde music, you might find this interesting.

By the way, Varese was a big influence on Frank Zappa, who learned about this composer when a local classical record shop advertised that they even carry Varese. You can hear the influence in Zappa's music.
