More Republican Ties Revealed Behind "Swift Boat Vets For Bush", Says Kerry Campaign

WASHINGTON, Aug. 20 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Public records reveal that two of the people in the new "Swift Boat Veterans for Bush" television ad are Republican activists, as the fact sheet below shows. This is just more proof that Bush's Republican allies are the ones behind this disgraceful smear of John Kerry's military record. It's pretty clear what's going on here. It's no wonder the Bush campaign refuses to condemn this smear.

Good points. This reminds me in some ways of the Peterson case, which has now come down to what Peterson said on tape. Although the defense will likely try to smear the woman who taped the conversations (and there is probably something to work with on that), it won't take away from the fact that he said what he said.

It is the same with Kerry. He said what he said, and it's recorded on video tape, audio tape, and in the Congressional Record. There is proof in dozens of places.

Context? I heard that argument last night on H&C, and it sounded just as weak then. There is no context. There is only what he said--over and over, it seems. The guy's a real motormouth, and now he's squirming.
