TF DANGER SOLDIERS CONFISCATE LARGE WEAPONS CACHE
TIKRIT, Iraq - Task Force Danger Soldiers confiscated several weapons and munitions at two cache sites Aug. 20 near Muqdadiyah.
Items confiscated at the sites include: 33 rocket propelled grenades, six RPG launchers, five RPG boosters, six rocket tubes, one 160mm rocket, one 180mm rocket, one 157mm rocket 32 boxes of RPK ammo, four artillery fuses and one AP mine.
The confiscated munitions and weapons were taken to a Multi-National Force base.

SEVEN DETAINED AFTER AIF ATTACKS

TIKRIT, Iraq - First Infantry Division Soldiers captured two anti-Iraqi force members Aug. 20 following an attack on their combat patrol near Khalis at 3:25 p.m.
AIF attacked with small arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades. The patrol returned fire and apprehended the AIF members in nearby palm groves. The detainees were taken to Multi-National Force detention facilities for questioning.
Earlier in the day, five individuals were apprehended by Task Force Danger Soldiers following an improvised explosive device detonation near Tuz.
One individual was observed running away from the area following the explosion and was pursued. Iraqi National Guard responded and assisted with an outer cordon of the area. Soldiers confiscated copper wire, RPG-7 sights and one mortar round.
The five detainees and confiscated material were taken to MNF detention facilities.

JOINT RAID CAPTURES AIF MEMBER NEAR TUZ
Aug. 21, 2004
TIKRIT, Iraq -Iraqi Police and Multi-National Forces captured an anti-Iraqi force suspect Aug. 21 during a raid near Tuz around 2 a.m.
The raid was conducted to capture an AIF member suspected of possessing machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades.
MNF and Iraqi Police conducted the search and Task Force Danger Soldiers conducted the outer cordon. A Swedish sub-machinegun was confiscated. The detainee was taken to the Tuz police station.

TWO TF DANGER SOLDIERS KILLED, THREE WOUNDED IN ATTACK

TIKRIT, Iraq - Two Task Force Danger Soldiers were killed and three Soldiers were wounded when their patrol was attacked Aug. 20 by an improvised explosive device near Samarra around 6 p.m.
The Soldiers were evacuated to a Multi-National Force medical facility.
The names of the Soldiers are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

SOLDIER KILLED IN ACTION IN SOUTHERN BAGHDAD

BAGHDAD - One Soldier was killed and two Soldiers wounded when their vehicle was struck by an rocket-propelled grenade today in southern Baghdad around12:30 a.m.
The name of the Soldier killed is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
The incident is under investigation.
