Based on what the flyer says, this is LEGAL. However, I agree with the posters who said this creates a bad "appearance" which the other side will use to create a bad spin. The same thing could have been done, with each organization putting out its own flyer to its own audience, asking all participants to show up at the same time and place.

Put simply, this is legal, but stupid. The folks involved were not THINKING about consequences.

Based on the wording of the flier, I don't see any evidence that B/C'04 sponsored the SwiftBoat Vets but people need to be more careful.

Perhaps but the Swifties are NOT interested in the political fallout of this. They don't care if it helps or hurts Bush. The fact of the matter is, its not a crime for people who share common values in this country to attend a POLITICAL RALLY. And if we're going to call this illegal, let's ban every liberal group from attending a Democratic Party rally. What goes around, comes around.
