My only concern about this the FEC. It is supposed to be bipartisan, split equally between Deomcrats and Republicans. I seem to recall Clinton drug his feet on Republican appointments so the Democrats had a majority for a while. How do things stand now? I agree that there are only two explanations for this: (1) Kerry is insane. (2) Kerry thinks the fix in. I hope it s the first, but we've been burned before.

True. Then again, will Clinton appointees do anything that favors a guy who could keep Hillary from becoming president in 2008?
By the way, why are there so many leftover democratic appointees in the bureaucracy? Didn't Bush do a proper purging of the old guard when he was elected?
