The election is months away. This is the battleground NOW. The only way he can save his war hero image is to rebut or silence the critics. He can't rebut them, and his attempts to silence them is fascist in nature.
As for other battlegrounds, that's the RNC task. In fact, on reflection, you'll notice that the professional politcos opine as you do, that the Swiftee ads are not where the campaign should be. Well, that kinda shoots a hole in the proposition that teh pros are in collusion with the Swiftees.

My only concern about this the FEC. It is supposed to be bipartisan, split equally between Deomcrats and Republicans. I seem to recall Clinton drug his feet on Republican appointments so the Democrats had a majority for a while. How do things stand now? I agree that there are only two explanations for this: (1) Kerry is insane. (2) Kerry thinks the fix in. I hope it s the first, but we've been burned before.
