No oil field on the planet has ever or could have pumped 20 MMbbl/day; it's a little matter of physics. ANWR will yield, fully developed, somewhere between 900K and 1.6MMbbl/day. Call it 1.2MM, just to have a reasonable number. Figure that number constant until the field is 80% exhausted.

If the reserve is at the low end of estimates, 6 Bbbl, that will mean throughput of 1.2MM for 4800/1.2 or 4000 days, about 11 years.

This is well PAST worthwhile, all envirodork spinning to the contrary.

These guys pooh poohing ANWR's reserves will be singing a different tune when their tank runs dry someday and it costs $350 to fill it up.
