My question would be that does a copy of the citation or any other paperwork come along with the medal?<<<<
I'm sure I heard that mentioned during an interview. It does not change, in my mind, the credibility of his story.
The exact date of valor probably did not ring a bell AT THE TIME. I find that believable. The man had just returned from fighting a war, being away from family, watching friends die, all the horrors - I am not surprised he did not verify the particular date on a citation.

You are right on. You do not remember dates unlesss it was Christmas, your birthday, you got wounded , or lost a good friend. I can clearly remember incidents but can't tell you what day or even month they occured.

The transcript has been selectively edited. Leher cut Oliphant down to size a few times, not shown now....

I'm glad I'm not the only one that sees the obvious.

I'm no fan of the Globe, or of Oliphant. But I think we're making a big mistake hitching a ride with the Swift Boats Vets. Oliphant, while often a fool, is correct in noting the many inconsistencies in their stories, and lack of corroborating evidence. I mean, am I the only one bothered that O'Neill says he never went to Cambodia, but told the President (Nixon) exactly the opposite back in the 70's? Are these really the guys we want fighting for us?

TOM OLIPHANT: Well, that's illustrative because I think this is an allegation that has a credibility problem that I believe I can address on journalistic as opposed to political grounds. BAAAAAHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, right..!!!
Tom Oliphant is about as apolitical as John Kerry.

I got this
SWIFT BOAT VETERANS FOR TRUTH EXPOSE KERRY'S FRAUD sticker on my truck the other day. The next day on the way to work and back I got lots of honks and 'thumbs up'!
The sticker serves 2 purposes:
1 - Shows visible support for "Swift Boat Veterans For Truth" to passing motorists
2 - Gets the swiftvets.com website visible to the public, so they can and find out more about 'Hanoi John' Kerry
Made by fellow FReeper disabled vet who has a bone to pick with Kerry, like we all do!
Large (24" Wide 12" Tall) like mine
Small (12" Wide 6" Tall)
Profits go to SwiftVets.com
FReep mail for details.

He admitted at the DNC PBS convention coverage that he has a daughter or something who works for the Kerry campaign.
I have more respect for him than most media, but he is still biased.

There are some things that concern me, but I think there is more supporting them than opposing them.
