John Kerry Had his Citation Rewritten 14 Years After Awarded

Posted on 08/19/2004 9:33:21 PM PDT by onyx eyes

John Kerry had his Citation for the Silver Star rewritten 14 years after he received it, according to Brit Hume, Fox News. The rewritten version signed by John Lehman, Secretary of Defense during the Reagan Admin., assumingly, Mr. Hume says, because Lehman would go along with a senior member on the Intelligence Committee.

No, but Brit and the naval expert were both smiling as they looked down at the two copies, one of the original and one of the later re-written one.

Yeah -- but how many got all those purple hearts, bronze stars, silver star, in a span of time of only four months time in active combat? How many wrote up the After Action report themselves ie; wrote themselves up for a medal?

Well, now I want to cry. I have known all along that something is vitally wrong in this country. I mean, as in something we cannot see, is driving things -- and not driving in the direction ordinary citizens want to go. When we see a man get away with the things kerry has, and the people with him acting with impunity to carry him along, no matter who did what or who is morally bankrupt, and you know the drill. We may be already -- well -- lost.
So how can a man who is God-fearing and basically honest, like George W. compete?

The way I heard it, it was John Kerry who brought the revised version to Lehman, to sign. Already re-written. Or, revised.

Major Garrett reported on this Thursday night and Hume had to do a double take and a 'let me get this straight.'

It's very peculiar indeed.

That's the EU. Right? We've been hearing about this. It goes something like, how the EU has formed itself into states that make up a bigger (?) empire and though not yet up and running, will be ready in three or four years to begin shoving the USA around. I think is what I got out of the rumors.
we've already been hearing about the citizens and gov. in those countries critiqueing our lives and political choices. But it always comes down to money though. The EU wants to push us with their euro.

So, I did a "no-no" by posting something I heard on Fox News?
Well, I didn't know and it wasn't a link or URL or anything. Again, its about money. I don't know what is wrong in the head of that chairman of Fox; but I do know that Wal Mart is heavily invested in the Republican Party or donates more to it, anyway. No matter that Teraaza is the heiress.

FoxNews hasn't always been on the "no-no" list. I can't remember when Fox got on the "do not post articles from these sources," but I think it was just this year when they were included.

But think about it. If FOXNews were a truly conservative web site, why wouldn't they allow their articles to be posted on FR? It's nothing to worry about, just a learning process. What you did learn from it though was that even FoxNews can be heavily influenced by it's owner, who just happens to publicly endorse John Kerry for president and just because a source claims to be "conservative" that doesn't always mean they actually are.

Thanks for posting.

...he can't find ONE instance of ANYONE in the war that accummulated that much hardware in a full tour much less four months.

Four months is roughly equivalent to basic training. It's shameful that the man is hyping four months of combat into such a grand military career.

Oh, this is rich. I smell landslide.

Don't starting counting your chickens yet. Don't overestimate the integrity or intelligence of your average 'Rat voter. To many, ending up in a war zone then lying to get out of it quickly while looking good is a skill to be proud of.

The viscious attacks, particularly on the Swiftees, are only going to get worse. It's clear to me that sKerry has chosen to stonewall and won't release his entire service record; he's banking on his buddies in the mainstream press to cover for him, just like The 'Toon did.

No one in the mainstream media--and perhaps not even in the right-wing media--will dare to ask the hard questions. For example, "Jim Rassmann, how can you be a reliable witness to relevant events on Bronze Star Day, when you yourself have stated that you spent most of your time on the bottom of the river after being dumped off Kerry's swift boat?" And, "Jim Rassmann, why do you claim that Kerry's injured arm was bleeding when he extended it to pull you on board after dumping you into the river when he fled when the medical record Kerry released indicates the arm was simply bruised? Have you ever seen a bruise display external bleeding before or since then?" "Jim Rassmann, how long have you been on the Kerry campaign's payroll, and how much are they paying you?" When will Kerry's band of brothers be questioned on these matters? Oh, there are so many more. But, we need to get a talented investigative reporter to read the book thoroughly before undertaking this mission. Attacks on the Swiftees' and our Constitutional right to free speech are rolling in, too. I'm particularly chilled to here the Bush Administration call for shutting down all 527s. If it weren't for 527s, how would the Swiftees get their message out? They have a right to tell their story, and we have the right--and the obligation--to hear it. The Swiftees deserve our admiration and adoration. To take on Kerry, the 'Rats, the media, and the billionaires who have lined up to support Kerry, they have displayed and continue to display great courage. What can we do, besides buying the book and donating to their organization, to show them how much we value their ongoing service to our nation?

Both the Silver and Bronze Star citation letters were issued more than once. THe language on the various versions is close enough to be considered the same. Best analysis, IMO, is that the later letters (signed by Lehman) were for replacement medals.

It's not a big deal -- or, it's a deal to the extent that Kerry did or did not throw his medals over the White House fence. The allegations made by the Swiftees are MUCH more serious than the providing of replacement medals via what was probably an administrative avenue.

On the Silver Star only the last sentence was changed. The Bronze Star version signed by Lehman is exactly the same as the Zumwalt version.
