Dana, what did you make of that exchange we just had with Michelle Malkin there saying that there are rumors out, there are certain people out there that say that John Kerry shot himself on purpose to get a Purple Heart. This is how bad it‘s gotten, I think
Like the "they - errh except one - didn't serve on his boat!" line which preceeded it, this is a classic straw-man argument by the libs and orchestrated by Matthews tonight & then picked up elsewhere in the liberal realm like clockwork. Kerry was never shot. I don't think he's claimed to have (literally) been shot (like with a bullet, from a gun). He's never filed medical records for being shot unless there's more mystery late night travels, woundings & healings Brinkley has yet to hear about.
IMO the shift in tactics accompanies this coordinated campaign, eminating from the Kerry campaign and carried out, in large part, by their friendly comrades in the media & spinmeisters extroadinaire, even if it's Willie Brown. Add Max Cleland for sympathy factor ... except there's no recognition anywhere the central part of Kerry's legacy, the Christmas in Cambodia, has already being debunked with Kerry's campaign forced into the position of being a LIAR (and a delusional one at that).
Seems to me that in any typical court in this land the burden of proof would have shifted to Kerry to answer and, if unable, considered to have LIED in every other instance. For Matthews and his ilk, albeit the Post or NYT, it is journalistic fraud of the highest order to ignore such factual realities and construct straw men in their places, placing demands on men of at least equal honor which they would never seek to ask, beg or even request of their hero, Hanoi John French Kerry.
The problem with this tact is that Kerry was never shot.

I'm sure little Chrissy thought he done good, but now his attempt to create talking points for Kerry is going to be all over talk radio tomorrow.

Chrissy is just like James Carvile: ask a question and then blather non-stop while the guest tries to answer. When the guest cannot talk over Chrissy or James, the guest is accused of not answering the question.
Matthews really made an ass out of himself.

He did, unwittingly, by not being familiar with the events as related in the book and not knowing the nature of Kerry's "wounds".
Matthews, if you ever show up here...Kerry was injured by a grenade he fired into a pile of rice...and apparently got rice stuck in his backside as well. Guess Kerrybo didn't know he had to be a distance away from explosives he's employing to blow up some very tough rice.
